Meant to post this much earlier. The first was April Fools day (16-18 inches), second was April 29th (10 inches by later that day). Both from this spring, heavy wet stuff that was almost impossible to plow.

That's the kind of snow we get here far too often. It's like trying to move a brick wall.
The only time I wish I still had a plow is when we get that nuisance slush of just an inch or two. You can leave it except it always freezes after we get slush. Ok on the flats, but if your driveway has any uphill/downhill ........

I'm getting ready for the cooler temps.

I broke into one of my chunkhausens and brought wood up to the deck.

Shoulder season is still a few weeks away, but I'm ready.

Appreciate all the photos. Thought it was just me. On the really hot days I like to watch several episodes of Deadliest Catch for a mental cooldown :)

Whilst in the wood moving state of mind, I emptied this rack and brought it up.
    IMG_20230903_110323.jpg

It's normally empty when not on the deck. But, I had a need for some temporary rack space. It had been about 1/3 full.

It'll be a few weeks, I'm guessing, before I start bringing splits up to it.

Friday morning it was a tad below 50 here which really got my blood going. It’ll be upon us before too long.

Last year, our first fire was the day after labor day. Chilly night, followed by 50° and cloudy that day.
This year we'll be frying eggs on the sidewalk on labor day.

Chimney got cleaned Friday, stove pipes Saturday, and wire brushed the stove top and repainted it today.

I'll fire it up on a cooler evening to cure the paint.

Sirchopsalot Do you use spray paint for your stove or do you brush it on?

    I use spray paint.
My opinion, id rather have multiple thinner coats, and brushing into the crevices would be rather time consuming. 20230904_042415.jpg
