Found this on FBM last week. Went Sunday and checked it out. 2.5 miles from home. Part of a tree landed on wires and guy called town. Asplundh took down three dead ash and left it roadside on his property. Hit or miss with dead ash around here. Some was good but one tree rather punky which i left some behind. PITA cutting roadside as its been a while for me. IMG_3320.JPG IMG_3321.JPG IMG_3322.JPG IMG_3323.JPG IMG_3325.JPG IMG_3324.JPG Decent load topped with some white oak that was a prior blowdown mixed in the mess. IMG_3327.JPG IMG_3326.JPG Another load there yet. Been a long time since ive hauled a load of rounds.

I had split this load a few weeks back and stacked the heartwood splits for bundle wood. The rest got stacked finally yesterday as i assembled a new half cord rack. IMG_3625.JPG Nuggets almost topped off another half cord bin. IMG_3628.JPG IMG_3636.JPG Another load still there but between work, weather and life i havent been back.

Most humid day of the year and i cut wood! :loco:  Special kind of crazy us hoarders are. Just took the last main trunk and a small maple. After a half load i was done. IMG_3646.JPG IMG_3647.JPG Split and stacked the load. Topped off a half cord of wood from this cut. Heartwood splits went for bundlewood in the shed. Some nuggets topped off a half cord as well. IMG_3649.JPG IMG_3650.JPG IMG_3651.JPG IMG_3652.JPG IMG_3653.JPG The ash was punkier than i like and kinda wish i never took it. Oh well cant beat the price

No way I would do it right now. Dew point here is 74 degrees. Can’t even relax outside w/o sweating.

I watched it go up to 78 this morning on the weather channel for the current conditions. Tied the highest i ever recall seeing for CT. Watching the news tonight and one town it was 79.

Dont know how i CSS stacked a half load this afternoon. Enjoying the AC now thats for sure.

    LOL! No.

I was making reference to the punk factor in the ash rounds. A few had chunks chip off rather than split through when i ran them through the hydro.

Nugget rejects that chipped off became firepit fodder. IMG_3658.JPG Too damp yet as they blackened and wouldnt really burn. They did eventually.
