We brought our newest girl home tonight. Her name's Hazel. We lost our ridgeback macy last month and our lab millie is 10 with some health issues so we decided we needed to fill the void that macy left before millie leaves us.

Congratulation Piney, well done. A wise choice to help absorb the shock when it happens. That is one sweet pup. Hoping for many years of joy and love for your family.:thumbs::thumbs:

Thanks! Me too haha. Fortunately millie doesn't have a mean bone in her body so at the moment she's just avoiding hazel at all costs. I'm sure she still misses macy but I'll bet she comes around soon and shows hazel the ropes.

Yeah.. We all get set in our ways.. don't necessarily need some "young pup" comin in and disrupting "life as normal."

You'll know when the time is right. I can say for sure that it helps with the loss.

Our millie is slowly coming around. This afternoon they drank from the same water bowl at the same time . And I caught them taking a short nap about a ft apart lol.

Our new guy has been here 8 days now. You would think he has been here 8 months with the way he has settled in and adopted us. I knew I wanted another dog soon after losing Dixie but I initially had reservations when it turned out to be only 2 days. Now, it is like the spirit dog has interceded and placed Augie here. The overall fit for us and him is astonishing and great. We feel so lucky to have him and already my wife has him doing some amazing things.

Cute pups! When we got our 2 pups I forgot how much work puppies and puppy proofing things can be. :hair:. Almost 2 years old and our boys STILL act at times as though they're 3 months old. They're goldens and full of puppy. This is the oldest age we have had dogs be that still needed to be crated at night and when no one is home. Our lab was out of the crate before 4 months old. I think he had more going on upstairs than these 2 goldens combined do.
