Yep, I’d leave it where it is unless you feel like being aggravated in the heat trying to split it, and aggravated in the cold when you’re burning through it like pizza boxes
That’s Black gum? …. That makes sense… I picked up some of that wood this last winter… thought the bark looked “ash” like…. I started splitting it here lately…. Mmmm…. Thank goodness the majority are all small diameter……. And don’t split too torn up… anything bigger diameter than the splitter head…….
Thats funny. Years back I had some roadside that looked like ash but limbs said otherwise. I bucked a length and tried to split it...not happening. Left it for the next guy.
