Will do and thanks for all the advise. All the extra ceramics is why I ended up buying the sx instead of the generator. I wonder if something like castable refractory cement would hold up to make a new one instead of waiting on a new one from the old country?

The generator ceramics(lower) are probably good for the life of the boiler. The Atmos is very easy on that because of the large low velocity nozzle. The nozzle will wear on the inner edges from gasses washing over it. There is a patch kit that I'll list that works so far. Its 2 part & the top coating you actually need to hammer in place. This seems to be the real deal. This will line molten metal foundry buckets. The nozzle has cast in secondary air passages, stainless steel needles etc so I gave up on trying to make one.

The lado pump motor and impeller is on the left, the 115v one from the pump linked above is on the right. They look identical to me so I will change over the lado to 115.
As for the nozzle goes, I found a Czech site that lists it for $60 ish dollars. Our boilers use the same one. If they will ship to the states it might be worth ordering a coupe each at some point and save on shipping? I could also ask my mom to get one when she visits again in the spring but there is a limit to how much weight she can carry. Sounds like something good to have on hand.

Great, I would be in for a spare nozzle. More important now is a spare boiler thermostat & flue gas thermostat & I think we use the same ones. I put much more wear on the boiler thermostat as I control the boiler with it. It was not designed for this. A spare fan motor would be nice too. What would you want for that Wilo Star pump motor assuming its 220 50hz? Those nozzles are heavy & probably more than your mother will want to lift around. Thats good news on the parts.

It is a 220 50hz. How about $30 plus whatever priority mail flat rate shipping is?

New here, just been checking out the threads when I have a chance.

I also have 2 stacked 330's. I only have one pressure relief on my whole system, it's on the top of my boiler.

Maybe I missed it - but what are you using for expansion? I think I saw your install thread but didn't read it - I'll go do that now. BTW, did I read that right? You got the boiler for $2800 delivered - all in? Holy cheap boiler Batman - that's some price for a gasser.

    Nsmaple,
Yes, you did read correctly. It was 2800 including the protection valve/pump. 500 of that was delivery to newark and I think I spent another 3 0r 4 hundered to get it out of the shippers warehouse and into my truck. Fee for this, fee for that...

I'm planning on using a sx-160v expansion tank, so 86 gallons with 46 gallons of acceptance.

Man, I can't get over the price. My loading unit/pump was in the $650 range alone. Someone shouldn't have any problem selling a pile of these at that rate - as long as they hold up for a least a little while. Great deal here folks.

I used another propane tank for bladderless expansion, a 110 gallon. Did it knowing I might have to swap it out for some bladder stuff depending how it worked out - couldn't pass up the chance to save a bundle though, like $80 vs. almost $1000. Heading into winter 3 with it, still all good - as far as I can tell. I only see about a 4-6 psi rise from cold to hot. Will be watching your other thread - nice job on the tanks. I considered welding myself, but the bubble gummer I am shook his head & said no thanks. I had a couple of tiny pinholes to get my pro welder to fix as it was.

I don't think there will be a be a problem with it holding up. The build quality is very high and they are all over the world, just not in the states. I have toyed with the idea of importing a few for sale but I have no idea where to start to get them UL listed and epa certified. I believe those 2 would be a must.

I toyed with the idea of using anther propane tank for expansion but figured I have enough projects going on plus I saved enough on the boiler to bite the bullet and buy the $500 tank. I hope the tank I mentioned above will be big enough. We'll see.

My boiler came into Chicago so I had all the fees you had plus "special consideration". That means the dog sniffed my boiler & cost me another $100. I bought a huge ASME expansion tank off Ebay. I think the acceptance is 130 gallons. It does a great job.

    milw saw,
I have a couple of questions for you about the atmos if you don't mind. There are 2 dials on the front of the unit. One is the operational thermostat and the other is the flue gas thermostat. What is the operational thermostat actually controlling? The manual seems to indicate it controls the extraction fan but why the 2 dials controlling the fan? Despite meticulously describing other parts of the boiler the manual I have is a bit vague on all of that. I was going to blow up the wiring diagram and try to figure it out from that but maybe you can provide some insight. Thanks!

I re-read the manual and it seams as the operational thermostat cycles the fan on and off to maintain temperature and the flue gas thermostat is used to detect when the unit ran out of wood and shut it down. Does it also shut down the pump at this point?

Edit-After taking a closer look at the wire diagram it looks as though the gas thermostat does in fact control the pump and ventilator. I feel like it would benefit from a latching relay. Pres a button for start up mode, boiler stays in start mode until the flue gas crosses a threshold and then switches automatically to operational mode. Hmmmm...

Badbob, there is no room for fun in gasification boilers! Everything is very precise and exact. Please keep your humor in the wood by product burning forum ;)
