Hey there, So I finally bought my truck (2020 F150, <20k miles, well equipped). It has a bed liner, but I need to get a tonneau cover. Something I've never researched before, but seems to be a lot more thought than what I thought was required. I want a hard cover, because I'll probably park the truck in the city and want to keep stuff safe. I'm thinking roll-up aluminum because those seem to be the lowest profile. As in, they don't block the rear windshield. They are quite a bit pricier, but seem to be "the best". Other considerations...I'm going to get a tailgate flap for transporting bikes. And might get a rack for packing kayaks. Any recommendations or other considerations? I assume a lot of you here have some thoughts.
I had a Truxedo Deuce II on my Silverado. I did like the ability to open it quickly from the front and the back. It's a soft cover, lasted about 10 years before the sun really began to take its toll, with no special precautions taken to preserve the vinyl. Unless your area is particularly prone to desperate thieves, out of sight, out of mind goes a LONG ways.
I’m splitting my time between the farm 2hrs away and Toronto. A lot of drug addicts floating around looking for easy scores
I put the ford labeled soft tonneau cover on my 2023. Just as expensive as any aftermarket ones. Memory says it was $550 installed.
I have a soft cover tri fold on one of my trucks as it came with it. American Tonneau. I do insurance claims and some that I have seen that seem pretty good and many different styles are A.R.E. and Leer.
Check out realtruck.com...very large selection of many different styles. I suggest shying away from a fiberglass unit. Too heavy to take on and off. Really limits the bed.
Yeah I agree. They look nice but definitely limiting what you can put in the bed…definitely wouldn’t make the loaded truck pics thread
