I'm not sure what everything was today but nothing like you replied to, not that covering wood is hard work but I didn't break a sweat. We had a nice wind today with the sun so the covers dried out pretty quick but the winds also brought in some smoke. Once the eyes started getting a different feeling, I called it a day. It has been a crazy summer, it has been either hot & humid or raining. Tomorrow will be another day with smoke in the area and rain, if both aren't that bad then the cherry will get bucked up so that trail is opened back up.
It's been over a week of cooler temps here. But, the wood is all done and stacked!! I'll add some dead and down stuff this fall
I was a huge sucess, thank you. No pics (as usual) and I also had pulled pork. With a houseful of guests, I didn't even get a chance to dig into the leftovers..........like they did!
Home made pasties, gnocchis, make your own sandwich buffet, hamburgers, hot dogs, lasagna, along with the brisket and pulled pork were menu items throughout the visit.
Temps are terrible down here tonight. I moved a tote of oak into it's resting place, got to finish filling it up tomorrow, then set up the lights. Only outside less than an hour, I could barely peel my shirt off when I came inside...
I hear ya, brother! I would only work early in the morning while the processing area was still in the shade during those temps.
I finally cleared the cherry and a dead pine from the trails, hopefully I'll split it soon. I still have the biggest part of the cherry left along with the top but I'll get the weed eater out and knock the green chit down. It was the first time in years that I worked under 200 plus pounds, I was 196 this morning and even though I didn't do much, it seemed fine.
The trails needed mowing so I did that today along with watering some flowers at a nearby cemetery, that's it.
Washed the vehicles and de-bugged the front clip on both of them. Weeded, pruned and garbage day tomorrow=getting all the trash ready to haul up. Light work day today. Day began with Mass as usual.
