With the traumatizing loss of BOTH of my MS460's this week, (I hope the new owners are going to be thrilled with them!) I had to do something to ease the pain! That, and I need to cut this weekend!

    Up to 2 M-Tronics now.....

That's soon-to-be Certified106's 460 behind the 441. Maybe one day this spring these saws will see each other once again!

Powerhead weights (dry) are too close to call really.

Pretty healthy considering it has 0 tanks of fuel through it.

Holy cow there is a lot going on here!

Short vid of the linkage. (Video will be live at aprox 10:30 EDT, be patient!)

This is how Stihl is countering Husky's Air Injection. The black duct on the right leads into the airbox. Should keep the filter clean a LOT longer than a 044/046/MS440/460 did.

You guys all tear down a brand new saw before you run it too right guys? Right? o_O

New saws cost too much, I will stick with my $130 pawn shop 460. Nice looking saw though.

I agree Guido, they are pricey but I do OK at the dealer. :smoke: I can always build a few more good used saws to fund my habit too.

That's a beautiful new baby there MM, I'm sure you are going to love it. We want to see it tackle that big oak round soon!

Now I would hardly consider 6 saws a case of CAD .................... that's just a normal healthy inventory!

MM you must have to cut lots of fire wood & some real big stuff.

    Square chisel chain ?

Running regular old 33RS on there. Full-comp, Round filed, full chisel.

And yeah, I seem to get the big ones fairly often these days.

    Just try'n to help you
justify the new $900 acquisition :)

Would be a little heavy for me to swing it around all day,
but sure would be fun to try. But a big tree here is 20".

    25" ?

I have and intend to run both a 20" ES wide-nose bar on it and the 28" ES Light it's wearing in the pics.

I'm feeling well armed now with the MS261 and the MS441 (50/70cc) in the stable. Still looking to acquire a "big gun", possibly in the spring.

Why is that Randy? Most seem to drool over the 461 rather than the 441. I never ran the original version of the 441 but I've read elsewhere ;) that there is quite a noticeable difference between the original and mtronic versions.

Very nice! Congrats on the 441, can't wait hear the report on how you like it. See it wasn't that bad parting with a 460 when you ended up with that ;)

Several reasons. That they have spring AV is number one for me. They are stratified, so they will use less fuel, and have less hydrocarbons in the exhaust. The M-Tronic system is flawless 99% of the time. They are insanely strong when ported properly.

You will hear people say they are hard to work on, but after taking several apart, they aren't bad at all.
