I finally got the power switch put on my splitter. I wanted to get it put on last year but it got too cold. Now I can plug it in without frying the plug, and I don't have to tie the 100 ft cord to the splitter when taking it places. I can roll up the cord and put it in the car/truck. I used a 20 amp switch just to make sure it holds up under the starting load. I left the spare screws under the cover, just in case.
Mines a hydraulic one, but I built a foot control for it. Got about a 4 foot hose lead on it and it's the best thing I could have done to it.
This is a full size hydraulic splitter (20 ton). I replaced the gas engine with an electric motor. I would love to see pictures of your foot control.
I have nothing useful to add here, except to say that it looks like the old girl needs an alignment...
Those are old take-off tires from a car. They hold air and roll down the road. The alignment was set dead on when I welded the axle.
