We had a bit of rain overnight, but nothing substantial thankfully. Took a ride up this morning and things are looking OK. No big damage; just a lot of leftover road debris in the yard. We’re off to Agway tomorrow AM for supplies.

Spent the day prepping. Fixed some minor damage to our firepit patio with pea stone and drainage rock. Redug the driveway trench yesterday and again today. The town didn’t fix the rip rap that fell by the culvert, so I put on my VT issued chiteKicker boots, got in the stream and heaved rocks. I also cut down a bunch of vines, bramble, whatevercrap that was near another culvert and potentially a choke point for water and debris. We also build up a wall on the other side of that culvert to hopefully keep water off that part of our yard. Cleaned up the yard and mowed. Time for a few cold ones.
Accu is calling for just under an inch of rain in our area tomorrow, how much is your place in Vermont in for?
National Weather Service says 1-2” of rain tomorrow with a slight chance overnight. Just hoping it falls steadily. The big bursts are what causes the issues. Hope you stay safe!
We should be fine, the last time our town had problems was in September (not sure the year) we lost some bridges, the brook was pretty wild. I would've taken some pictures but I was in a fall fishing tournament on the St. Lawrence River the morning it happened. When I was leaving early that morning, I was wondering why all the State Police were heading this way. The water in the Brook was up over the safety rails (3 feet high) and then some. It didn't take long for some kayakers to start going down the Brook and over the road.
More good news, we could have smoke from the wildfires out west in Canada here on Monday. Wildfire smoke to make a return
.68” of rain since 5/6AM this morning in SoVT. More on the way based on the radar. Drainage in front of the driveway is working very well thankfully.
I just checked our rain gauge, we received pretty much the same (0.68) but it stopped just after we were done coffee.
