I have to go to Redding later in the week for work, 112-115. It's "only" going to 108 at home. I can't wait for Fall and firing up the stove again.
It's been a really cool summer here so far. I can only think of a couple days that were 90+...today is in the low-mid 80's. Decided to fire the boiler this morning and make a batch of hot water.
I remember many, many moons ago when the company I worked for sent me to Indiana. I thought MI was hot in summer but I got a shocker! Terrible down there and I remember more than once the temperature was in the upper 80's near midnight. We did not have air conditioning in home nor car. We thought perhaps it was a warning of what Hell would be like. We didn't stay there very long.
Had 95 here earlier today. I got in the pool with our Aussie, water was 86. I rolled the solar cover off yesterday evening and left it off overnight as the water was too warm at 90. Just covered it back up to keep debris out as we have some thunderstorms moving in. Just started raining and have some cracks of thunder. We need rain though. Calling for rain till midnight.
It still amazes me when I hear that Ohio and Indiana has the same weather as Michigan. Yesterday it was 74 at 2:15. It did warm up some after that but certainly nowhere near 90! Our thermometer never got above 77.
We had 66.4 this morning with some heavy rains that stopped just before my first cup of coffee, the trunks of the trees are all wet so it must've started overnight. I heard a dead branch or tree come down, it sounded like it was on the hill in the back so I'll check that tomorrow depending on the smoke.
Was going to go out and work on splitting some of the HL that I gathered but rained .11" this morning plus now it's 84 so just vegging out today. May start raining again this afternoon as well. Hope next weekend (Sunday) is better to either go split or work on the remaining HL at my little honey hole, glad she is not in a hurry to get it cleaned up.
