If that's worth $5K there's a billion dollars worth on my family property. Time to buy a space ship.

It might have been worth something if he hadn't cut it up into firewood.

Wow! I think that’s the most extreme version of pricing I’ve seen for firewood!

I reached out kindly explaining that it is cut into firewood lengths and around here you might be able to get $200 for it all as is. If it produces a cord of firewood and you split it and seasoned, probably $350.

The reply I got was "You don’t burn walnut. It’s too valuable correct? And there is way more than 20 board feet from this tree. It is about 30” in diameter at the stump."

I gave him a contact for the local sawmill and to contact them if he believes someone would pay $5,000 for it. Explained how sawmills work and that even though a sawmill might sell premium Walnut for $12 per bdft, they may pay $4 per bdft for the log itself. I will say the price is still $5,000 for the lot.

Looks like one piece of a log that may be able to be sawn if it's not already past it's prime. Highly valuable.

Sweet. The lad might have to clear parking spaces for all the customers coming to buy that highly valuable firewood.
