So those of you who made it to pizza nite at my place during the 2023 Hawg Dayz GTG last month may remember the mountain of splits I had piled up behind the pizza oven...... The pile was comprised mostly of oak, locust, hickory, applewood and hard maple that I've collected from removals we have been doing for the past two years.....I'd split the wood as time permitted, and chucked it onto the megapile for eventual stacking. I'm glad to announce that it's officially all stacked! I had guess-timated 11-12 full cord were in that heap of splits, after stacking, it turned out to be around 11 cord counting the stack on the back of my tool shed. So I was pretty close to my guess! Over two years worth of heat. Took me several long days, but I stayed at it and got it done. Replaced all the skids in that area of the stack with good, heavy-duty plastic skids also....
Looks great Scotty! Always a good feeling to get a mountain of splits (or any amount for that matter) neatly stacked. How much is your current inventory of firewood? Any starting date for your wood shed build?
Nice Scotty Two years of heat or 1000’s of pizzas. Whatever comes first. Looks great. Nice job on stacking for sure. I hate stacking but it is satisfying when done.
Wow, that's some serious stacking in the heat! You literally have a path worn in the yard! You have to be close to (past?) the culvert with the stack now?
Great lookin’ stacks Scotty. Kudos to you for getting it done through this humid heat we’ve been having. That’s some good sweat equity right there!!
Looks like they are stacked right up to the culvert...If that is what I see in the bottom left corner of the picture!!
Good job Scottie. That was a lot of work and you did an excellent job of stacking. It had to be quite a task moving and stacking at this time of year and my hat is off to you. As for me, I don't mind stacking but not when it is hot and humid.
