Got a good portion of the trail cleared of brush today and will have quite a bit of wood to haul off the trail to get to the neighbor’s place. Some of the wood is in pretty bad shape where it’s been down for quite a while but since I have to move it anyway I might as well get it home and salvage what I can.

Once I get to the neighbor’s property there will be lots of good wood to haul.

Putting the log arch in action is a learning curve as I’ve never used one before. Learned not to choke the log too far from the end or on the smaller stuff it tries to force the log under the tongue. Also doesn’t hurt to set the chain with a little slack so it’s easier to unhook when I get home.

Pulled one with a pretty good weight and the arch worked as advertised. The quad didn’t balk at all as if there was no load. [IMG]

Nice. Glad its working out for you. Experience is a good teacher.

Maybe jo191145 can throw a few pointers your way. He skids with a log arch.
