I look for excuses to go to the transfer station. I disposed of some shrubbery today. I found a few black locust and maple rounds. I am not actively scrounging during the warm weather but this is the fifth scrounge like this I have found in the last six weeks.

Nice little grab! Was this at your hometown or at the shore? Do you scrounge at both locations?

I'd be making excuses all the time if BL was there!

This is in Old Saybrook. I do scrounge both. It’s fun finding pieces of locus, dogwood etc on these

Every little bit counts, especially when it's the PRIMO stuff.

Went back Monday, more shrubbery from a landscaping project. There was some punky red oak. I took a few pieces where the heartwood seems fine. I also found some more dogwood. There was also a bunch of random splits including red oak and red maple. They are ready to burn and will be fire pit material.

Is that a random round of BL in pic 2? Nice score Thom!

See earlier in the post. I hadn’t unloaded my truck yet from that scrounge.
