Since my husband comes to you all with all his questions and advice I figured I would do the same. Does anybody have any recommendations for a portable document scanner either wand type or paper fed? I need one to scan and file clients paperwork out in the field for my social work job. My boss is buying it and told me to get a good one but prices and reviews vary dramatically. I don't know if any of you will have any ideas but it was worth a shot. Perhaps I can scan the Bailey's catalog or something to make this post more approprite. Thanks in advance.

As I've told a few other newcomers Mrs Dex....Welcome to the nuthouse. Sorry I can't help you with the scanner but you know we are a friendly bunch round here. If and when you get one picked out send us a picture of the new scanner. You could set it up on one of Dex's woodpiles, it would make it more interesting.

Welcome Mrs. Dex. Finally meeting the other half of the "Dex Duo".

I use a very good scanner at work. It is a document scanner that also can be used as OCR. It is paper feed and has plastic carriers for small bits to scan. Also does business cards. I have a raging cold so won't be going in to work today but I can get name for you. It is the handiest thing going. It needs to be plugged to power, not battery operated.

When needing a new gadget I often go read reviews on cnet.com Ive rarely been steered wrong with their reccomended buys for TVs, cameras, printers, cellphones, end such.

Speaking of which I need to do that as mrs. JH has asked me to find her one of those all in one printer/scanner/copier machines for home.

BTW, welcome! :campfire: I wonder if this is a trend now... if Mrs. JH joins I might get too many uncomfortable questions how much my tools cost :zip:

Hey Mrs Dex. I just know that nobody here is responsible... in any way... at all... for any $ spent by Dex on firewood related TOOLS...

    None whatsoever... nope...

As for a portable scanner... if your boss is paying for it... should make it a little easier. Must be some Cadilac units out there.

Just respond with a question about how much her shoes/purses/clothes/mani-pedi cost.
That should fix that. Or, start a war.

If you have an iPhone or Android with a decent camera, there's several apps out there that allow you to scan.

She has a thing for Coach. And should probably own stock in Merrell shoes. I don't count the bottles of hair products or the fact even her new cheap suburbs hairdresser would still buy a dozen of my haircuts.

And in turn she doesn't complain my tools say Husqy, Ariens, DeWalt, Delta, P-C, Ingersoll Rand, etc....

We have a kind of unspoken M.A.D. agreement to not directly ask what the others stuff cost :picard:

Don't worry either I think me and @splitoak are the only pole dancers around here for now. And we are both hairy men that probably smell pretty bad when doing our routines.:dancer::D

Evidently, Larry wasn't paying attention when we requested no pics.

That guy in the background seems to be enjoying the show just a little too much.
