Good morning! 60F and cloudy, severe haze has lightened up slightly since yesterday. Still in the dangerous category. I picked up a load of split oak and cherry mixed last night. Length was all over the board. Will check with moisture meter tonight when I resplit most of it. Seemed a little heavy. I need to mow the front yard as well. Have a God day!

Yep, the boys went to water them Monday evening......as soon as the cows saw the boys, they jumped the fence and vanished into the woods.
I think we have one cow that's a bit off kilter upstairs.

    I don't wanna.......but I s'pose you're right, it's that time.
We use electric fencing, and I think the drought is causing it to fail due to not enough grounding.

Morning all. Yes, it has been a few days without me posting. Busy time of the year. Sunday we went for a drive over a piece of logging road that we used to have to travel to go down island. Normally the trip would have taken 45 - 60 mins. Well, I don't think it has seen a grader on it for the last 20 years. It took us 2 1/2 hours to make the trip. Sad thing is that it is still used as a logging road in parts. Good thing we took the Tacoma.

Warm and dry here with light fog in the mornings. The closest community to us has a fire burning on the outskirts but fortunately the wind is pushing it away from the community and we are not impacted by the smoke.

    Everyone have a great day.

Glad it can be fixed. It would be nice if the rains would put the fires out.

Good morning, y'all. Hope y'all have a TREMENDOUS THURSDAY. 67° heading to 95°. Taking Blue Samson on the road this morning, got a small splitting job to do, then clean up around the big shed. Set the splitter back up, still have 2 1/2 rows to finish. 0628232227.jpg
    Be blessed, be a blessing.

Perhaps you and I should be planning a trip to Alaska?

It is raining and some thunder. Looks like we are into a wet pattern but the crops are perking up. I think the corn will be okay but the beans look terrible.

It went through here starting sometime before 6. Straight up monsoon for a while. Thunder shaking the house ect. We have gotten quite a bit of rain here in the last week but just 5 miles away almost nothing.

Heavy overcast with the forecast of rain - maybe. It was supposed to rain last night and didn't. We are very fortunate to be not dealing with smoke but I have never seen the lawns this brown in June. We are having August weather. This week is the two year anniversary of the heat dome we had in June. 600 people died in our province. I think June might become the new August. Our local forest fire is under control and pretty well out. It will be another two weeks of monitoring for hot spots.

Six more days of work left until summer break. Next week is short because of the long weekend. Happy Canada day on Saturday.

    Everyone have a great day.

Good morning! 71F and mostly sunny, smoke has dissipated quite a bit but still noticeable and it's going to be a hot one today. Split a few small rounds of 5 year old mulberry to add to roadside stand stacks last night. Then mowed the front yard. It was past time and very green. Glad we got rain recently. Then after refilling a couple racks at the roadside stand I started splitting the load of cherry and oak splits I brought home. They had a bit too much moisture for my liking so I'm splitting smaller to speed drying time. Somehow lost a nut off the splitter and can't start it now. I need to find a replacement tonight as there's a lot of wood in the wood yard to split. Have a God day!
