I just took this pic behind the property at work...those trees are about 1000' away...and that isn't fog...you can tell that it would be a bright sunny day here today, if not for the smoke. It kinda looks like you'd expect if one of the neighbors was burning wet leaves.

Hope it ends quickly for all you folks affected by the smoke. A few years ago here in Western Washington we had severe smoke out of Canada for several weeks and it was not fun at all. The whole quality of life goes downhill in a hurry!

I know from being in Labrador and northern Quebec, when a fire starts it goes until it burns out. Not sure the type of areas these are in if it’s way more populated, more than 3 people per 100 sq miles.

Visibility well under a mile. Can't see the trees behind the field.

I’ve been hacking and choking all day from the haze …

still can’t get rid of it since I had been out in Pennsylvania almost a month ago.

Like some have said, they've got lots of land, lots of fuel and dry evidently. Check out Cananda's wildland fire site:

They've been at PL5 since back in May I think, with international help coming from all over.

They worry only about blood and broken bones. As long as you can breath, you are fine... :hair:

The smokey haze returns here today. Supposed to remain for a few days. High altitude. Sure hope it doesn't become ground level again.

    Yuk

The alerts on A/Q started Wednesday and they run through Saturday, the smoke was hanging in the trees today.

There was a tiny bit this morning in eastern massachusetts, but by noon the smell was gone. Nothing like a week or so ago or like what is lingering in Pa and west of there right now. Feels like grit in my eyes. Luckily I have no known allergies or asthma so doesn't bother me anywhere near what it does some people.

because of this stupid cough I've had since about the time of the PA GTG, I called the doctor's office today.

“Yop, sounds like it’s become bronchitis. This air quality we’re seeing right now isn’t helping you any either. I want you to rest and get plenty of sleep for the next week, take these antibiotics, cough suppressant and Flonase. I’ll check back with you in two weeks.”

    great….

the northern national park better get its poop in a group soon…
