Back in the shop this week for the first time in a long time. Work and sports have sucked up all my time since first of Feb. This week's project is a set of unnecessarily nice Cornhole boards for my niece's wedding. Got all the box joints cut and fit this evening but ran out of courage to do the glue-up.
I've had mine since 3/12/23 and only make a pot about twice a week (I usually only have one cup in the morning and refrigerate the rest of the pot). Glad they are replacing it.

Mornin' Peeps. After 2+ weeks of dry weather we received 3.2" of rain yesterday in about 7 hours. More on the way the next 2 days as well. Get to regrade the asphalt millings at the bottom of my driveway due to the washouts. Still happy for the rain as it also got rid of the heavy smoke conditions we have been getting as well. There were two golfers struck by lightning not to far from here, both in critical condition. Definitely a strange weather year so far.

No heated gear here. I have heated grips on the Duc and so far, that's been enough for me. It has to be 40 something to ride and usually @ those temps it's just a commute to work which is about 35 minutes. I do have several friends that use it though. What's the issue, I could ask.
The wire coming up is a shielded wire I pinched it when I put my new handlebars on just wanted to figure out the best way to cut splice and resolder that. Does the shielding need soldered or do I use something else to bridge the gap in the shielding?
I did have another bowl last night with the wife since she was gone Sunday and back home on Monday, scale said 203 this morning. Backwoods Savage , did I forget to mention the bbq chicken, hot tomato salad with some mashed potatoes we had for supper last night.
I'd probably solder it, but sheilded wire can be spliced without soldering too...depends on what its used for, and environment. Its easier to see how its done rather than try to explain it...this video is not bad.
You could wrap it in aluminum foil/ tape. experience has taught me those are temporary fixes at best and you are best to replace the entire loom so it’s completely intact. I just hate splices.
I wouldn't, its on an expensive optional accessory for a motorcycle, it's not subjected to road salt, etc...and in this situation, a splice done right will last forever...but I agree on a car or truck, a splice outside of the cab is temporary.
The smoke/haze is really bad here today. Gonna fix dinner, glue up the Cornhole boards, and shoot my bow tonight.
I’ve been planning a concrete floor for a 30’X60’ Quonset shop and a 2-hole outhouse. I'm hoping to get the outhouse installed and built yet this year.
Glue up sucked tonight. Everything dry fit perfectly but once I got the glue on there both boards were like "F you, lukem, not today." They are together but slightly out of square. I'm the only person who knows and it's nothing I can't hide/fix but it will bother me, probably forever.
