I will NEVER comply with this if mandatory. I didn't read the information in the link and don't plan on it.

When the time comes I hope there are enough people that still value being left alone, that are willing to push back against the nonsense. It’s the growing group of people that LOL and applaud every incursion I worry about.

Quite the contrary. We go twice a week for services.

Please stop arguing. Not fun having to babysit a thread like this, and spending your day arguing doesn't sound fun for you either. Roll and scroll, "ignore thread" are helpful tools.

Can we agree there will never be any garden police to regulate your garden, or gas stove police to come take yours?
I’d love to see discouragement of threads that are off topic to firewood hoarding and specifically aligned to go down that rabbit hole. How can you “discuss” government without getting political?

A few years ago, yes, I would have said you are nuts if you suggested that could happen in the USA. But it turns I was way too trusting back then...

Haha "the people's garden" yea, right!
Only reason I would have a garden is to feed the cows I eat :thumbs:

Well shoot, I’ll continue to post my garden prowess here to potentially build a resume for a future retirement job. :smoke: “Howdy folks, my name is Jason, federal garden inspector, I’m here to see what you have”. :binoculars:

Like I posted earlier, it does seem to be that this particular census is aimed at community gardens.
    As for your retirement gig...

Not future, now. I know someone that sits on a local fire/emergency/community department board. This is a rural community so the list gets a lot more in-depth and specific.

A list of a few things they would like you to let them know you have. Pantry to include contents of perishables, commercially and home canned. Tools, hand, power or gas. Generators, size and fuel type(s). Machinery, light and heavy. Personal and commercial skill sets. Veteran status to include any MOS you "participated" in. "Prepping" stocks, water storage, firewood, firearms, ammunition, livestock, medical and veterinary supplies, gardening supplies. Personal and family medications both prescriptions and OTC. Size of house in sq ft, rooms, lot size and shape.

All completely voluntary(some huge HIPAA questions). BUT. Huge emphasis on pushing as hard as possible to get citizens to "voluntarily" pass along the above information, in the name of community preparedness. Mailers followed by door to door if needed.

When they refused to participate in this information gathering propaganda scam, this person was essentially frozen out of the board for not being a “team" member/player. Still officially a member but literally locked out of the meeting rooms. Out of 9, 2 refused, to me this is a scary situation for our communities if this is happening. Oregon is guinea pig and trail blazer state, I imagine this a test. Knowing this state it will sadly pass with flying colors.

A lot of that information can be gathered without a person’s knowledge (or consent) anyway. Years of online purchases, Google searches, YouTube videos, etc. If they feel the need to, they can use the Patriot Act to profile any civilian in the name of national security. Every time you swipe a debit or credit card there is a digital footprint, going back years. They can keep tabs on your shopping habits, ammunition purchases, and get a good idea of how much you might have stockpiled away at any given time. Anything you type on social media (even on this forum, including PM’s) can be used as evidence against you if need be. There supposedly is no gun registry yet a buddy of mine had to surrender his firearms to a state trooper in the small hours of the morning due to a domestic incident, and they knew before they arrived what guns he was in possession of. If you were in the military they already know you intimately. Why Oregon is fishing for information the intelligence community and various acronym agencies can pull up with a few key strokes is beyond me. I have my suspicions anyway.

No doubt about that stuff which I’d be more concerned about than a… garden.  And it’s been available to them for longggg time. Wish I knew for fact but many years ago on a show we watched that had people try and run from the authorities, pretty sure I heard them state 2010 and up vehicles they can track via ECU. The license plate trackers are off the charts these days too. That info is available to many more people that just “the authorities”.

We watched that show. The two women that thought they got away and went to get Taco Bell made us laugh. License plate reader on the interstate flagged them.
