Yesterday, I was asked how my garden is doing. After a brief answer, I was next asked "do you have it registered?" Yup, after just a short research this morning, the powers that be USDA specifically, are expecting you to register your garden. You will have to tell them what you grow, adopt sustainable practices (duh) and the garden's location will be placed on a map showing location of garden. You'll also be given a sign! Wow! Get this....it will be called "The people's garden" ...... I had to quit reading as I am attending church this morning. I did a word search "garden registration" just in case anyone else wants to get riled up on a Sunday morning.
I am not going to comment as my last post on a similar topic got jerked off of here. We all know what the motive is but its not allowed to be discussed on here.
It appears to be optional? Guessing it’s perhaps to have a better idea of some of the non farm gardening that takes place across the country? USDA Opens People’s Garden Initiative to Gardens Nationwide
I read the first couple paragraphs. Why was I not surprised that equity and climate change are part of the discussion?
That link is provided by the USDA "An official website of the U s government" stated right at the top of the page. What are they not telling us? ALERT - the USDA wants you to REGISTER YOUR GARDEN. Their "people's garden" program is NOT your... (nutritruth.org)
I have gotten letters to that effect for my fire wood. I don't sell fire wood. It reads like a tax on personal property. I just circular file the letters.
Yup! (Heck, it may be buried in this one already!) (I haven't read it yet) Register my garden...they can kiss my northern bound southpole...
I won’t get too riled up over it until they make registration mandatory, require me to report exactly what and how much I plant, crop yields, fertilizers, how much I freeze/preserve etc. At that point the resentment will really start creeping in.
Why would anyone "buy in" to this bullspit... ignore this crap and keep your blood pressure in check. (no I didn't click, and won't) This is a firewood forum, not a get everyone riled up about their government forum.
You can ignore it, but the agenda marches on...pretty soon there is no option to ignore, or even to make choices. Talking big picture here, not necessarily this issue specifically...but this is how it starts. Drip drip drip...
