I just looked that up. Interesting. I've said for a long time that if you were a millennial working prior to the '08 crash you tend to be very different from the ones who were still in school/college. So then I guess we can all agree today's cartoons suck right? Except for Bluey. It's kind of funny. I did have to show them Looney Toons (the originals), Tom and Jerry, Popeye, Inspector Gadget, etc. I even introduced my oldest (7) to All in the Family and she thought it was funny although she doesn't understand much of the humor. Here's something you Gen X's might remember. To make sure my kids aren't little psychopaths, I watched The Neverending Story with my 7 year old and made sure she was crying during the scene where the horse sinks into the mud.

Defining someone by their "generation" always seemed dumb to me. Most people over 45-50 don't realize there are any generations younger than Millennial. They think newborns to 40 year old's are Millennials. Most of the charts can't even agree on the years of the generations. Every generation has lazy people, every generation has hard workers, every generation has people who are better and those who are worse with technology, etc, etc.
Spent many hours in arcades and in front of a Sega Genesis. Gouls-n-Ghosts, Strider, Golden Axe, Space Harrier, After Burner II...
I cursed a whole lot at a little 13" color television trying to land on an aircraft carrier playing Top Gun on Nintendo. Never did get on with the aviator games well. Arcade saw me playing Ikiri Warriors, Mercs, Ivan Stewart Racing, Tekken and some really cool themed pinball machines. Played a Simpsons one once that was amazing. So much going on under the glass it's hard to describe.
My older brother and his buddies rented the VHS tape of Rad so many times when I was a kid, I couldn't figure out why they didn't just buy it...
Rad made us all cool to the girls when it came out. When I was younger, I played the heck out of an arcade game called Karate Champ. That one got a lot of my quarters!! A good friends brother had a Nintendo and had Mike Tysons Punch Out. That was a fun game at the time. Every fighter had a pattern you had to master to beat. I was a huge Lego kid. These are some of the sets I had and still have (somewhere in the basement). Working rack and pinion steering. Piston that moved with tire rotation. This one was pretty awesome. The 2 crank wheels on the back raised, lowered and dumped the bucket! This one had working suspension, rack and pinion steering. One of the first "big" deal Lego's for me was this battery powered one. It would move forward and reverse with the battery pack. Big deal back then.
I remember that lol. Always thought the part where he turns into Christopher Columbus was cool. Spent yesterday bush hogging, mowing, weedeating and pressure washing. I vegged out watching Masters of the Universe in the evening.
