Fired up the pit to get the charcoal going. Plenty of assorted stuff to burn. Scrap framing lumber, bark, splitter chunks. etc.
Fired up the pit again tonight. Marinated BS chicken on the grill. Tried one of my home made firestarters. Cedar sawdust with melted reclaimed candle wax. Worked great. Hey Eric Wanderweg recognize the egg carton?
Scrounged some 1x3 strapping on the job im working. Either hemlock or spruce. Was gonna toss in the dumpster as it was full of nails and screws but wanted to see if it snap, crackled and popped. Removed from a ceiling and bone dry. I was right. Started the the charcoal FAST! Mesquite marinated steak on the menu I shot a short video but cant get it to load. Sounded like bacon frying times a hundred.
Well considering im using an "old" digital camera for pics and video and not a smart phone. I dont do well with technology. Is there a FHC maximum monthly allowance for posting videos? I didnt read the fine print when i joined? Or should i ask yooperdave?
Ill make the next video an hour long! Even i was surprised at how much that crackled. I did a second crib stack to watch again. I have several more of them for future fires. Maybe again tonight.
It’s even easier with a current smart phone- and I believe you could master it just as easily as you did with old tech.
It's been a while. I'm here and enjoying the FHC life. It's quiet time on FHC, but rest assured, wood hoarding is a real thing here.
We could use a couple of those downpours here. Tuesday at got a nice all day rain, about 2/3 of an inch of rain, but it hasn't rained at all in about 2 weeks before that, and the forecast shows zero chance of rain until maybe next Sunday. We're in a drought here.
