I used to carry two 50 lb sacks of corn at a time into the deer blinds. (I could drive to about 10 minutes from them; the rest was walking.)

Wouldn't think of doing something like that now-a-days!

We have a little metal stud construction going on today. Working on a 27 story building for FNB. walt not as glamorous as cabinets and millwork but it keeps me in saw gas and bike tires IMG_20230614_074940586.jpg

There are better uses for bagged corn. Mainly in making some special beverages with a bit of sugar and yeast.

Similar prediction here but it is fizzling out. Not a drop so far and radar shows it going away by 3 or 4 this afternoon.

It started raining harder here (20 minutes ago) so I called it a day, I think the heaviest rain comes in around 5 or 6 the last I looked.

I had just finished cooking some bone-in chicken breast on the grill, brought them in and we started supper. Five minutes into supper the rain came down real hard.

I never emptied the rain gauge from the other day so the first picture is from that rain and the second is from the heavy rain that started today around 5:20 p.m.

Just rolled into town. Waiting for the general contractor to unlock the gate and this deer was strolling by. Been seeing them just about every morning. IMG_20230615_042312143.jpg

I’ve been on “vacation”, and working harder physically. Helped some friends process some trees into firewood for three mornings. And benefited with about 6-3/4 face cord of good hardwood. Then, each day after, I’ve been doing some weed whacking a little at a time. Getting the fence line around the two main pastures under control. About an hour and a half at a time, and then moving on to something else. Sleep well at night, you will, grasshopper.
