Ironically im on the phone with buzz-saw Monday when i pass this. Came to a screeching halt to check it out. Lots of decent limb wood and a huge trunk. Not for me. Happened to go that way yesterday and they were having lunch. Stopped to BS with the boss. Cool guy. Knew his trees. He's an oak hater like me for the same reason. (long drying time) Fun watching them move the big rounds. He offered to drop them on my PU. IMG_3411.JPG IMG_3412.JPG
Im sure the The Wood Wolverine is  right now, but not at the Stihl saws!
That noodled chunk in the second pic had metal in it. They hit it a couple times!

    I don't mind oak.
My first outing with BRAD was a big oak , I think it was right around 36 inches. There were a lot of nice clean and barkless splits from it.

Id love to cut it, just dont like the drying time. It was on level ground and the ability to roll the log is the deal maker or breaker for me. They had sliced it up and taken all the limb wood before i went by.

If you hoard enough to get at or past the 3yr plan, it's a non issue and pays back big time.
    I love it...

agreed. I just dont have a place for it. I have a face cord of oak splits sitting in my friends driveway and ive been trying to figure out where to stack it. I mixed a bunch of the primo splits in with bundle quality wood. These were split smaller and may get restacked when i go to use them if not ready.

For me, I couldn't hoard by the 1/2 truck load. I need some substance to chew on lol. Plus I have the horsepower to noodle big stuff rather quickly. :saw:
The dead standing chestnut oaks are giving up their moisture in wayyy less time. If you check what you cut with a MM I bet its ready to go in 2 unless split very small, then maybe less. At least in my experience.

I turn it down often. I was tempted to take some of the limb wood. I do enjoy processing it.

Well i split it right away (from my few bucks score) and we did have a nice dry Spring so it got a good head start. The general cordage wood wont get sold until 24-25. If MC is close when im using for bundles a piece or two may get mixed in. I did split them smaller and will usually split them in half when i assemble bundles. Had some 2.5 yr.old oak that just went last week in a bundle order. Didnt check MC though

It's straight with no big visible knots but yeah I would pass on that too. Takes too long to process.

I would have take that in a heartbeat. I have no issue with space and it can sit for years. I love oak personally and the bigger the better !

Since we're sitting on close to a 6 year supply, oak is fine here. But BuZZsaw Brad is selling it. A bit different scenario.

Brad, next ash job I get, we should swap load for load. I think I'd rather burn oak.
