Total active burn area in Canada today is comparable to the size of the country of Switzerland. Hoping for the best for ALL of the crews battling this mess.

Much better atmosphere here today. The winds are moving smoke somewhere else for the time being. We also received “some” rain last evening. Not much, but better than none. Chance of rain shower today. Hoping we get some.

You hoarders have a safe and good day today!

How will they ever get those Canadian fires in control? That has got to be doing some major damage.

Came home 1 day early because of the heavy smoke and pollen. Fishing was great but the catchin' left something to be desired.

The AQI was 50 when I went out to work this morning, that was nice. About 4 p.m. it was just over 100.

The reading out of Cornwall Ontario tonight is 171.

The reading from 9 p.m. tonight, I'm thinking the 171 earlier was wrong.

    Ozone - 19
    PM2.5 - 14

I'm from Ohio, so not extremely familiar with the Altoona area, but it looks to me based on your routes that you might be in the right vicinity...not sure though, maybe a local member could assist in getting you there, if you n your shadow have a few spare hours that is...we are over here on vaca this week, so already have a full itinerary, and vehicle, or I'd connect with you myself.

Parts of NH have gotten a fair amount of rain, but the activity is basically widely scattered - and they scattered away frommy area. Got intermittent rain yesterday. Most of it was inconsequential but did end up with about 1/4". I'll have to get up close and personal with the rain gauge this morning to see the actual total.

I can tell you it wasn't enough and I will need to water some of the gardens today or tomorrow. The good news about the system that has been stalled is it kept is dark enough and cool enough that it wasn't sucking the moisture out of the ground so the watering I did Monday afternoon has been sufficient - even for the potted plants.

Where US322 connects up with I-99 is the closest and that’s 45 miles away.

Upper 40's in the morning and lower 80's by evening here this week. Don't know how to dress.

Project list is about down to nothing...and that's fine by me. I'm ready to take a break for a while and stop spending $. I have a couple paid woodworking jobs coming up...will give me some time to get them done.
