Turned on the mini split for about an hour last night, maybe 1.5 hours. It was 78-80* depending on which part of the main floor I was in and the sun still had a couple more hours to shine. West side of house gets wicked solar gain in late afternoon and if I let it, the house temp would soar during that time. I put the set temp at 76 as I didn't necessarily need it cooler, just didn't want it getting warmer. Temp outside was 86 at the time and then dropped quickly to 72 once the sun was nearly set so opened windows and installed a couple of window fans. Woke up about midnight and shut the fans off.

Should be in the 90s today and tomorrow, so the mini split will be put on duty at some point each day. This weekend lows will be in 40s and high around 60 - with mostly overcast/rainy weather so the P43 might get run once or twice. We'll see.

    Strange weather still...45F this morning.

Ran the big stove yesterday morning from 3 am until about 9 am.......Fired it back up about 4 pm as the house was back down to 65 F Ran until about 10 pm and the house was nearing 75 F
Shut of until 4 this morning....Built a fire and set it on low......

Weather is supposed to warm up and by early next week be back up in the 90F range daytime temps.

First week of June is usually when we are pretty well done with the stoves........Butttttttttttt...the occasional spot fire to take off the chill can happen any time.....

Started the mini split head in the office about 1:30 yesterday afternoon. Once I was done in there, turned it off and started up the one in the living room. Woke up again about midnight (again) and turned off the mini spit and did the window fan thing. unfortunately it is still 69* out, so can't get the house too much cooler than what it currently is (74). So, the AC will be back on even earlier today (especially with more humidity destined to come in).

Will be good when the front comes in tonight/tomorrow to cool things off. Hope we get some good rains out of it, we need it.

Had a roughly 45 min thunderstom, a little light rain still falling. Temp went from 87 to 67. Took all the pollen off the cars, should be a nice sleeping night.

High temp here was 96 yesterday. By the time the storms hit (mostly thunder, lightning and wind) it was 89 and dropped to 72. I'm hoping for more rain over the weekend as this is the first measurable rain I've gotten for over 2 weeks. The series of storms last night only dropped a total of 1/8".

Same here, temps and rain wise. Had a little rain overnight but not much. Hopefully getting showers for the next several days will help.

Have shorts on now. Nice weather to work outside.

We have a new baby rabbit in the area and it ate one of my plant. sprinkled a lot of red pepper flakes on various plants I was worried about. That should learn'em.

The high yesterday was 62* but that was at midnight. it did nothing but drop then stabilized between 51 & 53*. Plus it was heavily overcast all day. P43 ran yesterday afternoon and it should start up any minute now. Fortunately there is no wind so the house doesn't lose much of the heat it produces (fridge, electronics, lights etc).

Luckily we just had to close the windows. House was 68ºF this morning with no heat which surprised me! I figured I would need to click the oil monster on for a bit.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!! :)

Here too, effecting my sinuses and eye balls. Must be real bad for people with asthma?

Seems a bit early for fires, How bad is it down yonder?

A friend in the Adirondacks said they haven't had any rain in quite a while....his grass is already browning. As for down here, we are getting hit with the ash.....all we've had lately is a hazy sunshine.....and a thin ash coating on the truck.
