Easily have enough CSS firewood here for next 3 years, sort of running out of room. Waiting for excavator friend to come and expand my one processing/storage area before I can add to the stacks. But there are some dead oaks in my woods that I'm going to CSS and leave them right there.
I have no problem cutting firewood in the summer.

I am seventy and just can’t take the heat and humidity much anymore!! Here in Kentucky like many areas elsewhere April has been warmer than normal and May cooler than normal making one of the most pleasant springs here on record! I have done quite a bit of firewooding this spring for sure!!!

I am now in 'incidental' firewood mode. Not actively seeking but will deal with if opportunity presents. Prefer to let making wood keep me warm in the cold part of the year.

Since everything I have is split ( first time ever ) , if I come upon a score that is primo I will no doubt grab it.
Then there is always logs for the mill as well.

Well, I didn't know that was a thing. Add me to it though, don't need right now but wouldn't pass up an easy premium wood score.

Need some FHC ointment. :D Used to sell it in the swag shop!

I have only a couple cuts lined up for myself. You have a score anywhere?

    No I did not.
Because it depends on how much I hang around with you.

I would guess a cord or two would be about it for me.

Ha ha ha, I understand more than I'd like to admit. But hey, your posts give the rest of us something to do around here in the hot season!

First load of the Summer. FBM score and close to home. Dead ash. IMG_3326.JPG IMG_3327.JPG Half cord load. More to come from this score.

I've got two cords worth of rounds awaiting splitting at home. When those are done, I'll have 13 cord CSSed. Since we go through between 3 and 4 cord per heating season, I might be pushing the 4-year plan! So, I won't be "pursuing" wood till next Spring, mostly because my wife sez we have enough o_O. Now, that said, she acknowledges, and agrees, that if one of my two local property owners texts me and sez, Rob, I have a tree down, do you want it, that I'll need to go get it... gotta keep the suppliers happy!

I completely forgot about this thread.
close to a cord of dead ash from FBM.
half cord of sassafras from step daughters place.
face cord of beech from recent FBM find.
dump scrounge and mulberry this week added another quarter cord so around two cords is a safe estimate.

I was hoping to have more (hey im a hoarder, what would you expect?) but work and weather have limited my time and ambition to do such. Plus there has not been much of quality for the taking in my area on FBM/CL. Three of the five above are from far out of town as i was in the area anyhow. With three weeks to go im hoping for at least a couple more scores.
