Good Morning, Brothers & Sisters Thread

Morning all. We are in a heat wave here. (high 70s) Another clear and sunny morning or at least it will be when the sun comes up. Up early this morning to send campinspecter off to get another load of firewood. He gets there when the sun comes up and it is cooler.

We had a good day at Mom's. campinspecter worked the hardest unloading the firewood and mowing lawns. I just spent an hour on the phone fixing the email access for the library. Technology is wonderful when it works. I think Mom needs a new modem for her personal internet.

Off to work today. We are starting scheduling for next year and it gets interesting and frustrating at the same time.

Morning all. Another warm day ahead of us. I have all the windows open to cool down the house before I go to work. campinspecter is headed out for another load of firewood. It should be the last one to take to Mom's place. We have an empty bin as well in our wood shed. He will be busy for a little bit longer.
This weather is going to last until the weekend and then of course it will rain on the long weekend and on Mom's birthday. Victoria Day coming up. Mom always has a holiday to celebrate her birthday.

Hopefully they are correct about the 73 part, that'll feel really good after the high 80's sauna we've been in the last few days.

Planning to saw up some more cedar logs today, and maybe deliver a load as well.
Also, we're sposta go set some posts for a building at my sister's place here one of these days, so that might be getting done today as well.... we'll see..

Good morning! 52F and cloudy, getting a little warmer than yesterday. I'm on the verge of running out of seasoned wood so I ordered a pickup load of split ash. It was delivered yesterday. I split a tote (1/4 cord) of a mix of silver maple, honey locust and box elder last night. Tonight I'll resplit the ash I got. Some will end up as bundle wood. The rest will mix in for the loose stacks at the roadside stand. Have a God day!

 

Good night, very early morning, y'all. Looks like y'all had a TERRIFIC TUESDAY. We got everything planned for Monday done, that doesn't happen often.
We got the rest of the water oak on 1 load and carried it to our veteran neighbor...
Got him stocked up with 2 loads, got to take a day and help get it processed
We then went by our friends house, pulled up 2 dead dogwoods, and spread 2 buckets of dirt for them.
Swapped back to the grapple and headed to my co-worker's house. He had gotten a "friend" to drop another big white/post oak. He made a mess of this tree, got lucky too. He had limbed it, then the rope broke while he was pulling it, you can see how far the trunk kicked back from the stump...
The way he cut some logs...the tree hit the front end of the Chevy truck in the background...
We did get a big load and a smaller 2nd load from there...

Good morning, y'all. Hope y'all have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY. Getting a sprinkling of rain now. Had to start my 7PM-7AM shift for a few days. Need to change blades on the mower and cut a yard if it's not raining in the AM. May cut some more oak, if time permits.

Post oak is primo firewood!

 

Morning all. Not up so early this morning. campinspecter is taking his last load of firewood over to Mom's today. Foggy morning so it is cooler out for a while.
Ferry service had difficulties yesterday so we had a teacher, principal, substitute teacher and students missing for part of the morning until they got alternative transportation. Then it was to reorganizing the students go home early in the afternoon with alternate transportation for another group. 10 mins after they left the school, the main ferry announced it was resuming regular service. It was that kind of day. Hopefully things will be back to normal today. Just regular mayhem in the school.

Good morning! 60F and mostly sunny. I got the load of pre-split ash split down last night. The guy splits for heating so most splits need to be split in half, a few into 3 pieces. This time of year most of my customers burn in fire pits and don't need big logs that burn for hours. The best pieces were stacked for bundle wood. Everything else (still pretty straight but some with bark) went into another tote for stacks in the roadside stand. I'll mix it with maple and cottonwood. Bible study at church tonight.
