Can you “expand” the shed by simply increasing the overhang on the roof both front and back? If the overhang is increased by 9” front and back, you will have room for an extra row of 18” wood increasing your storage by 50%. It would certainly look different when stacked as the wood would protrude in front of your vertical posts, but it would be an easy way to increase storage.
Rained all day Sunday…. I did manage to get the triangle shaped plastic roof on 3 totes though. Got a meeting right now but might have enough daylight left after to put up a few rafters
Made a little progress before dark. Took the photo while it was still light enough and then worked for about another half hour
Looking good Just an FYI, if you find the price on those rafter strong ties to be as unappealing as I do, I cut up a 2x4 into short pieces to screw to the main beam vertically...then the rafters can screw to the side of those...carry on!
I find the price of anything unappealing! I just toe screwed them when i built my friends. Doing the same on this build. Me thinks he gets more wind out his way.
I’m not near as fast as buZZsaw BRAD but I did make a little progress today. Ready for the steel on about 2/3 of it. Not sure when that’ll happen, I’m out of town the next 2 weekends. I have more $$$ into it already than I ever thought I would, and there’s a 20 ft addition coming . Hopefully yet this summer
I see $$$ just in hurricane ties...just use a short piece of 2x4, does just as well, at least for a shed that doesn't have to meet some code.
Yah those are pricey. I used that 2x4 trick for the low end of my rafters. The front just a 3" screw for now. Problem with mine is the divider wall is racked forward about a couple inches. I didnt discover this until it was half full of wood and too late to adjust fully. Maybe when its empty(or no wood against the middle) i can tweak it. For now it stays. I have a bunch of reclaimed joist hangers i dug out of my scrap that ill make my own rafter ties. Dont hold your breath though. Im just glad ill actually finish something. Actually there is one thing im REALLY good at finishing my dinner!
