Here are the stacks so far, the tarped one is 4 rows wide, 33 ft long, and averages probably 4.5 ft high. I'm thinking 2 to 2.5 rows per year so what I have split and stacked should make me be darn close to done with 15/16 wood. The rounds are a hard maple we took down, going to borrow a splitter to take care of it and about a cord worth of rounds left in the woods I still have to round up. Feels god to be getting ahead!!
Looks great! I'm following in your steps trying to get ahead. Looks like you're getting there faster than me. Nice work Dutch!
Nice job Dutch. I'd take that tarp overhang and tuck it up higher. No need to cover the sides. What kind of pup is that?
Nice work Dutch! You definitely have a head start on being ahead for burn seasons to come. Nice neat rows, very clean and orderly. I like it
Looking good Dutch. I know that awesome feeling too... 3 year firewood supply... priceless. Nice job.
Awesome We never tire of looking at stacks of firewood Ever consider a tarp or ground cloth on the ground under the pallets to keep weeds & get better air circulation on the bottom. ?
lookin good Dutch.....now we're starting to see some stack pictures. Once Bogy gets some meat in the freezer we will begin to see the mountains and new piles up that way.
Lots of wood you have there Dutch..... Nice job! Sounds like you have another cord plus in the wings... Get a little more this fall and your all set. You wouldn't happen to be Dutch would you?
Thanks fellas, hoping to get at least 1.5 more rows done by Halloween, then a youngin will be making an appearance (and I gotta feeling the wood processing may take a few month hiatus!) I hadn't thought of that bogy, maybe once those pallets get emptied this winter I'll throw one under
Oh and he's a goldendoodle, just turned one. Great pup goes everywhere with me, loves stealing splits too! Names Mudd.
He's a pretty color one too.... Emma and me are best friends... Mine gets dirty enough to be called mud quite often...
This will be the 3rd winter for us and we haven't had enough dry wood to burn 24/7 until now. I'm guessing around 4 cord...
Then for sure you'll really fall in love with getting ahead Dutch. And you are right. There is just something about standing there and looking at your wood piles. Only guys like us understand that.
I agree...nothing like finishing a stack or two and standing back and realizing what was just accomplished. For me its the same when I finish bustin up a big stack of oak rounds!
