I'm older than dirt..... Don't list my B'day on any of the forums I frequent. I prefer not to be reminded of another year down the toilet.

Sitting out on the back porch and she stopped for a sip. I watched her for about 10 minutes before I went to finish mowing.

    Thank you so much.
We still have little hard data as to what happened.....I think it was her getting a bit of Cottage cheese at dinner time.

This stuff has CARRAGEENAN in it.

This stuff is used to make things like ice cream, yogurt, cottage cheese and many other dairy based products very smooth and creamy.

FDA says IT IS GENERALLY SAFE TO EAT.....
IT IS VERY INFLAMMATORY TO THE GUT

Many drug makers use this crap to induce inflammation to test their anti inflammatory drugs (YEAH...THIS CHIT IS GOOD TO EAT)

If I eat a bowl of ice cream with it in the mix....Serious bad guts really quick.

I did not realize that The Cottage cheese had it....

If you find certain foods give you troubles.....Check the label .....CARRAGEENAN BAD JU JU

I didn't realize this. I don't eat cottage cheese anymore as it gave me troubles years ago. I do eat a fair amount of yogurt, and just checked the label of my favored brand (none in there thankfully). Have noticed in reading labels (to avoid coconut - which is in everything these days) that carageenan is in a whole lot of things.

I've become lactose intolerant as I got older, and am now eating the Lactaid brands of Milk, Sour Cream, Ice Cream, & they now have cottage cheese. No coconut or carageenan. And taste-wise, they are all very good......not at all what I expected.

The reason Carrageenan is used is IT'S CHEAP $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Several companies have gone to various GUMS (Xanthan Gum...Guar Gum)

These products bind with water and other ingredients to "Stabilize" the product and make it more creamy.

Also......Ice cream will not form ice crystals and get yucky after being in the Freezer a bit too long.
Many products will see the various ingredients settle out or layer after being on the shelf .

These things tend to make them less appealing to the consumer.....Thus the reasoning behind the use of Carrageenan and the various gums.

All about shelf life and consumer appeal........Home made ice cream made with cream fresh from the COW is about as healthy as you can get.

Carrageenan is even added to whipping cream......It will stop a nice batch of whipped cream from separating out and having the yucky layer of water on the bottom after sitting in the Fridge for a while.

But...Bottom line...this stuff is an inflammatory agent and causes issues in the gut...

The various bean gums are not as irritating, but can cause some issues....mostly if eaten in excess.....

So......Imagine the small little intestinal tract in a little Kitty.....Add this inflammatory product......

A little bit over time can and will cause issues.....Kitty was never meant to eat this stuff.

Mouse A'la Carte :Dmuch healthier diet
Cats are Carnivores ....A diet of Rodents, Birds, Snakes......

And so we let our little buddy get into highly refined stuff that is not really good for us.....

Chupi has been doing great since we stopped giving her stuff off the Hooman plate...

Another bad thing is the various seasonings ....GARLIC IS A KILLER....

Kitty will beg wildly for some Pizza......The Cheese likely has Carrageenan ....and the various meats and such are very likely seasoned with stuff that can and will make kitty very sick.

Food stuff ain't what it used to be....
