The old "no one wants to work vs pays aren't high enough" argument!

It's a tricky balance to strike.

On one hand there are a lot of lazy people. However...them expecting pays to somewhat keep up with inflation isn't unreasonable. There's no denying the ratios of what people make vs what things cost is way worse than it was decades ago. Yes they made less, but things cost less in comparison to that wage. In addition I have seen first hand companies keep getting rid of benefits, saying they cost to much. Guess what? People like having good benefits.

It feels like we're just in a big tumbler. Pays go up, then literally everything else goes up along with it, then they ask for more pay, and then everything else goes up again.

We're in no better of a place, everyone just pays way more for everything.

Heard on the news this morning, whether you can believe it or not, that by 2030 80% of the workforce will be replaced by AI technology. Supposedly also, Wendy's and Google are perfecting AI for order taking in all Wendy's locations by next year.

Just open your eyes and look at what’s already happening. Just gonna get worse if AI becomes a thing.

Read the post. It was not stated there is a problem. Just a hint that we don't want this turn into a problem.

I guess I misunderstood this part then.
Just wanted to clarify what was being done wrong...I do understand that the topic in generally can be thin ice if people aren't careful.

Nothing wrong, more of a friendly reminder as some posts are getting very close to partisan politics vs gov't in general. I too saw it getting close, but it's been rolling along well thankfully to the Hoarders here

Why work when you can make a living on handouts?

Our nation is on a path of self-destruction

Sad but somewhat true. I made the mistake of going to the local provision on the 1st of this month. 14 people deep and I was one of only a few that didn't have a "card". Won't make that mistake again.

With some of today's workforce AI might be an improvement.

Guys times are changing; it’s not fair to judge these kids by our standards!
    That’s not their experience.
Most have never seen positive interest rates why would you save $ in a bank account.

you tell them start low, work hard, spend hours proving your self. Govt sent them home for a year gave them free money, their heroes invested in crypto and made millions in months
Bought a boat or RV and their YouTube channel makes 150k a year in 3 hours a week..

    And we criticize them…

Meh, there have always been dreamers...back in our day it was being a rock/rap star or pro ball player...but the rest of us poor slobs had to go to work...but, I will say it seems like there are more opportunities to "get rich quick" or at least make a generous income quickly/easily now, and without college, or even much if any training...and most of the rest wanna sit around and collect uncle joeys "mail money"...times are a changin...and in my opinion, most of it not for the better.
