I really lucked out. It got up to 91 week ago but this weekend was rainy on Saturday and only hit the 60's this weekend. I managed to get the last of the firewood split and stacked with the help of two of my boys. I did find a rattlesnake in the pile today. Mr Browning took care of it. CSS is exactly what I needed. I lost my uncle back in February and my mom last month. Repetitious work like this is just perfect. I did so much thinking, pondering and coming to terms with everything. Everyone has their own particular needs but for me this is one of the better ways to think on a problem. Here are some pics!
Dok440 ... Condolences on the the loss's .... Glad you were able to be in the environment for which allowed you to free your mind... Nice look wood racks and pup...
Sorry to hear of your losses Dok. Also sorry to hear 90 degrees mentioned. It will no doubt be a long hot summer for you.
Sorry for your loss Dok. Nice stacks. I can't wrap my head around being "done" for the season. Being a scrounger, I have to be ready for the next score when ever it presents itself.
Dok, I’m sorry to hear about your mom and uncle. Good for you for identifying and embracing a means of mechanism. Firewooding is it for me now too. You’re fortunate to have such a beautiful space to do it in.
I’ll add my condolences as well. It’s tough to lose one but two close family members in such a short time is especially hard. Glad you could find some time and peace in the work.
Sorry for your loss Dok440 . Loss best friend a few weeks ago and still can't imagine what you are going through. Glad you have a way to deal with the pain through firewood. Take care and I hope the lord gives you the strength to get through this ruff period.
That’s a lot to go through, sending my condolences. Glad you were able to find some time to sort things out while doing some firewooding.
You got a lot of wood done…. Interesting area you’re at. Looks really nice. Not too close to the coast I would guess. What kind of wood?
Stacks looks great. Im sorry for your losses. Firewooding is great therapy for sure. June 6th will be a year since my mom passed. She was 96!
It would be great to CSS year 'round but it is too hot and dry by June. I live vicariously through you and others posting throughout the year!
90 is my stopping point, though it's not fun. We have nice weather in the 60's still. Not looking forward to the heat.
I have your posts to keep me going in the summer! It's just not safe with the fire danger. I'm in mowing/trimmer , brush hog and clearing mode for the next few weeks then I'll shut down most work on the land until Fall. I have plenty to do including grading behind the barn and regrading the driveways. The missus wants a new chicken coop and vegetable garden. It never ends and I love it!
Sorry for your losses Dok440. Many people don't understand how making firewood not only works the body, but also the mind and spirit.
