Given the opportunity to build another shed at one of my storage locations. Ive scrounged enough repurposed lumber to get started...4x6 & 6x6 landscape ties, short and long length 2x4, 2x6, 2x8's & 2x10's cedar decking etc. Got started this week. It will be 8'x20' with a divider in the middle. 6'6" inside clearance. Roof to be metal. Ill likely stack to 5' high so it will hold 8 cord when full. Mostly bundle quality wood to be stored here. Have a stump to remove to finish floor framing. The only money spent was for a couple 16' 2x10's i got for $5 each at Lowe's. Abuts an old shed i GROSSLY overfilled with splits. Ive been known to overfill! Pics to be added as the build progresses and gets filled. I have 3-4 cord of splits on hand already waiting.
Looking good! That's way better than tarps and given the price of the heavy tarps I bet it's a wash cost-wise.

What are you using for fasteners Brad? My biggest ticket item on my last wood trailer/cart was the screws to keep it together. Haven’t used nails in I don’t know how long.
16D hot dipped spiral shank spikes for framing as well as 3" screws. The cedar deck is simple galvanized finish nails. I have some extra lags for the 2x8 attached to the shed. Each of those 4x6's got six nails. Perpendicular framing will be doubled up 2x8 & 2x10. Im dreading removing that stump. Old chain for the 261. If i were building a trailer id use all stainless steel. I HATE rust on anything exterior. Those "weather resistant" screws today are a joke. Just painted. They will rust in a few years getting wet all the time. The deck i just did i hand nailed with hot dipped nails. Most of the fasteners here are leftovers from jobs. Retired contractor friend had a big box of the galvanized finish naiks, Scooped up a bunch of those. Not worried too much about rust etc. since the roof will have a good overhang in both ends. 8' wide with 11-12' roof length.
I have one loop of 20" semi-chisel for nasty jobs. Lately it's been cutting RR ties. It's pretty much sacrificial so whatever happens happens.
I have a loop of 16" for the 261 with little meat left on the teeth. Had it with me yesterday but didnt have time to work there. I have a big shed to demo and was tempted to buy a loop of carbide chain. Ever watch the show "Barnwood Builders"? They use chain saws all the time taking down old buildings.
