Ash was on the verge but I'll split and take it to the widow I help out. She can burn it next winter.
Almost too hot now for my liking. Had an older gentleman introduce himself and said he was bringing a big converted oil tank over to that area to burn some of the brush in. I may go next weekend and help a bit but I told him I was about done for now as I don't work this stuff much in the heat. This spot where I was the loggers took what they wanted and dropped the rest as the plan is to make it tillable ground but I almost wish they would have left what they didn't want standing as it is a heck of a mess. It really is a little late for this too. Because the best way would be to push it in the field and burn it but it's already plowed.
Always enjoy seeing you and Betty hoarding together. Good on you for helping her out. (the widow that is) Yeah with the blood being thick still from the Winter it was on the warmer side. Of course a couple months from now ill be posting about a load of wood i cut on a 90* day!
About the same here. About the lightest clothing I cut in is a tee shirt and long sleeve button up work shirt over in case there is any poison ivy. My tee was soaked when done as it was clear and sunny. it was doable but I prefer colder.
No way I will cut on a 90 degree day unless it is absolutely necessary. I used to do it but that is another benefit of being ahead.
I hear ya on the heat. I have a cord or two still to stack and I'm going to use this cool weekend to get it done. 90's next weekend so I'm out of time! Seeya in Fall firewood!
