Just some pictures of some work I've done or doing.

We didn't have a real cold winter so it looks like we'll burn 12 face cord of pine that saved us five face cord of hardwood.

I'm not sure on how many pellets we burned this year but will get that number soon.

Good to see you Zap. We had a pretty mild winter here, burnt less wood than normal. Have a fire going tonight and it's a rainy mess outside. Hope you and the Mrs. are doing well.

We've been working on taking down the dead pine on the house property, so far we've taken down 12 this spring.

We planted 10 Norway Spruce in an area on the house lot that had a bunch of trees that the wind took down years back.

We didn't do any snowmobiling in the winter, the last two years my CT scan has showed a hernia, no pain yet but just wanted to get through winter and not leave the plowing and firewood up to the wife, did that.

We're having a fire too, chase the chill fire. How's everyone in your family doing?

We're both good, we're hoping for a nice summer and a late winter.

Just more of the pine, we took down the dead pine in picture 3623b, maybe 3659 next but I'll need to clean that area up for my escape route.

We are both good here too. I'd like to see a nice summer but hoping May stays on the moderate side. Have some cutting, splitting and stacking to do hopefully before the heat sets in. Sorry about the CT scan findings but prayers it all turns out the best for you.

Thanks. I never worried about it the first year but did this winter, I have chit load of work the house property needs done not counting putting up our hardwood so I won't worry about it.

We should be five years ahead on the hardwood ( four plus at the moment) once I get about four face cord up so we're set for heat.

Once the hills dry out, I'll get this standing damaged beech c/s, that will make the wife happy.

It went pretty good buZZsaw BRAD , it seems after plowing a few driveways and all the trails on the house property during the winter, I enjoyed the heat in the basement more which usually runs 78 to 81 with hardwood, I use to hate that so I must be getting old.

I haven't felled any hardwood this spring so my goal is all the damaged/downed hardwood in the pictures and anything mother nature gives us when we start getting higher winds.

The wife likes burning pine so she has a few piles she's tired of looking at, those will get c/s/s. I have one new trail around the house that will be finished by the end of July if not earlier. Near that trail is an older trail that I will open up, I have one tree that's semi broken off about three feet up leaning in an old pine that will need removing and then a ton of branches that will be taken to the wood dump.

On the bigger piece of property we own, we have a big pine that has been down blocking a trail so I told the wife that would get c/s this summer so she can burn it and I can see what hardwood damage there is. It's in the same area when I first started cutting (2008 or 09) that strong winds brought down 13 to 14 cherry on one hill, that year I did the c/s and the wife did all the stacking.

We do have a area off the driveway that more pine will come down, just some sorry looking pines. Once we get that area how we want it, we'll replant with hemlock, white pine or norway spruce. The ten Norway Spruce we planted this year we bought through our county, we might do something like that next year depending on how these do.

How has your firewood collecting been going? I see you're following around food trucks! :D

Same old chit just a different year. The wife wasn't sure about burning pine years back but she finally agreed and then said she actually liked it, I knew that it meant more work but it saves me from removing it from the lot.

This April is totally opposite of last April (very dry) this year the rains just keep on coming.

I see you had your GTG, looks like the guys had another good year (firewood wise) and good eats with some fun.

I think we have room for nine face cord of hardwood and six face of softwood and the the areas are full. I don't think the hardwood will get filled unless mother nature does some felling but the softwood area will.

I'll need to move the small plow before this rotten pine comes down, just behind the date stamp you can see a cherry, that's rotten and will come down too.

This area has a bunch of dead pine (some up and some we've taken down) so we'll need to replant some trees here too.

I CSS a boatload since last Fall. including 7ish cords of black locust. Have maybe four cord of rounds of that to SS yet. My last cut was a tree job that took down six for about 4.5 cord. Thats all split waiting for a stack. That has me burnt out on hoarding and havent used a saw since. Three weeks ago. Any interest in coming to our Connecticut GTG on May 20th?
