I bought a Duravent 3PVP-AIK. Makes sense since the Eco65 has a 3" OAK opening, except the foil tubing is 2". Too small to connect. Am I missing an adapter or common sense?:emb:

Clean out tee w cap is 3" to stove the increases to 4" exhaust pipe. Too bad the exhaust on stove is 4". guessing I need a new clean out tee too? I cannot find one that is Prime on Amazon :headbang: In the PelletPro literature I think I need a 4VPV-TB? Any thoughts?

    thanks

I would get the stove first. My stove says 4" exhaust as well..(My Enerzone is made by SBI, just like the Drolet). But it has a 3" connection on the back. I bought a 4" adapter, and needed to buy a 3" to 4" increaser.

As for the OAK? I know they have a 3" OAK. So the 2" flex tubing won't work.

Please excuse me, I am chomping at the bit to move into a warm house after a long summer in the cramped RV....:hair::wacky: About to go

Thanks! We have the stove here, in the living room and ready....Yep, I need a new 3" OAK.

If this helps any new Eco65 owners, my new stove measured physically in person, is a 4" exhaust.

Ironically, @DexterDay, I have the 3" to 4" increaser tee with clean out cap in possession, It's this one that doesn't fit, go figure :picard:

Guess I will pay premium shipping on the new OAK and Tee.:smoke:

    Have a good week everybody

I dunno if I'd be worried about heat much with temps in the mid 70s still!

Oops... I didn't know you had received the stove already.

If you had bought Selkirk venting, I have a 4" adapter. But parts are not interchangeable from one manufacturer to another.

Did you buy online? Or from a dealer direct? Because it's new, most dealers will take the old Clean out T in on trade. Even if it was mail ordered? I bet they would take (less a 10% restocking fee?) It on trade.

As for the OAK? It was thr 3" kit? But came with 2"? That should be returned as well. Or almost every hardware store sells the 3" flex tubing needed for your OAK. Or buy a 2" to 3" increaser from an auto parts store?

Any pics of the new above? ;) We love pics

Her weather bug app showed a low of 43°. That's pretty chilly. IMO ;)

It's 50° this morning in Ohio.. Compared to what we had? That's cold.

Lows in the 40's here by the end of the week. Good luck with the stove install. You know the rule, pics or it didn't happen.

If I'm reading everything above correctly, the kit you actually needed (with a 4" thimble) was the 4PVP-WTI, but unfortunately that also only has the 2" OAK tubing/connection. I think the 2" OAK connection is all you can get with DuraVent.

You may have to get a standard 4" thimble without the OAK, and make a separate hole for the 3" OAK.

3" aluminum dryer vent from a big box store will work for the OAK, but you'll need some sort of screen over the end to keep critters & bugs out. Maybe a 3" soffit vent?

Worked out fine. 2 day shipping on correct fittings, and they will take back the incorrect parts. I have to pay shipping but I am satisfied. @DexterDay yes via internet and 1-800 phone then shipped.

I actually ended up with the exact part # (and manufacturer) that Drolet lists as recommended.

Be careful with this.....adding a soffit vent can actually restrict the intake too much....make sure you have the correct area of intake, minus obstructions, before you go and do this......not enough area + a little wind-driven snow could cause severe problems. I prefer to oversize the intake, and then screen it. As for screening the exhaust, I don't like it! it only collects flyash and causes exhausting issues later on. Lets face it, when the stove is running, no bugs or critters can live in the exhaust flow anyhow. When you are done burning for the season, simply cover the exhaust with something! A Doritos bag and a zip tie? a baggie and string? etc

Lousy, I was hoping to put the air intake as high as the hose will allow so he can stack pellet bags beneath it without obstructing it. It will have a proper screen (as remcommended by the mfgr), and no critters or direct wind or snow drifts.....Does the elevation wall hole being higher compared to the stove intake make a difference?

only problem about dragging intake air a great distance is you'll get some resistance to flow.....just like pushing the air too far, pulling it too far is bad as well....

We had to put an inliine booster in the dryer exhaust pipe at previous home so I understand this one (phew). We will use the specified part for now, but wow is it ugly. Dear husband will stack pellets away from it. thanks for the great insight!
