That's been my experience. They all have been ultra reliable but some are a bit heavier than comparable brands and usually choked down quite a bit before a muffler mod.

Multiple times the fuel line got pinched and cut. That started to happen after a few hundred cords. The pull cord and assembly failed too many times to count. The saw does not have a decompression switch so cold starts were always hard on that as well as my shoulder. The spring mounts snapped a couple of times as well. When it runs, it runs well. It just got to be too unreliable in my opinion.

Yep could be. I have never looked at one of those. The 620 has a tube baffle and the 4910 has a restrictor just inside the deflector that’s easily removable

I thanked Echo out loud for the removable restrictor. I could see the exhaust port once I took it out. Bend deflector flaps back and cut the center piece out on it. Sounds like its supposed to now. I went ruffian style on my weedeater (Hoosq) and just drilled a 3/8 hole smack through the brillo pad and all.

    I had a echo 590 for over 7 year's
Actually I had two I bought from eBay but never even ran the second one no need
The first one I cut firewood with and did some tree work
    It's more of a 20" farm saw but it'll handle 24"
My friend borrowed it and didn't clean the oiler hole and fried the oil pump
Under warranty Echo sent a new one to my shop they gave it to me I fixed it myself.
    I bought a 4910 and ran it about 3 year's
    Good little lightweight saw
Echo offers decent power not pro saw level but well built easy to maintain saws
I haven't run a 7910 but they have a good reputation at my local echo dealer.
My echo brush cutter has 10 year's on it now
    Flawless performance
And I have left it in the back of my truck for months at a time.

That little top handle CS I bought a couple months back has exceeded my expectations for a cheap saw (compared to the Stihl top handle arborists saw). Amazingly light and after the first start with the primer bulb, I have not touched that again. Starts right up first or second pull. One reason why I'm selling the Stihl's (all sold but one now) and going to Echo.

Not sure you can afford it. 090's are commanding a high price today, much like when they were new. I actually prefer the 075. Lots easier to deal with. Not an 090G, just an 090. Both are limited use saws anyway. Just for large diameter bucking or possible a sawmill.

Far as I can ascertain, all the Echo saws are made in Japan and imported by Echo here in the states and always been my opinion that Japanese made saws are quality units. If you go on their website and peruse the models and download the operators manuals, everyone lists the Japanese manufacturer when it relates to emissions certification. Been eyeing up the 'Timber Wolf. lately. I see it will pull a 24" bar but 20 is plenty enough for me.

I have a mint 880 with a 72" bar if I want to cut something big.
Kinda half looking for a 090 to go with the 16 saws I've bought this year so far.

Considering what the 090 and the o75 cost back when I bought them new and what they are worth today, both will command a serious price when I do sell them.

What did you pay for your 090 and what year bought?

Hell, I don't remember exactly, that was a LONG time ago. I think I paid with the bar and 2 loops, around 800 bucks. The 075 was around 500, same deal. Both have low hours on them and both are in excellent condition too. Always been OCD with my saws. Of course both are insanely heavy too....

Interestingly, the one pictured and mine, mine has less paint chips and no scuffs on the top either.

Even my well used 028 is in nice condition.

Im not familiar with the difference? To the best of my knowledge the 090 was discontinued in 1985. Did the later models have chain brakes?
