I grabbed a tile shipping crate from work for the cutoffs, gnarlies, random shrapnel, & nasties that don't stack well. Having spent many weekends and time after work doing firewood, I wanted a change of pace. Using scrap lumber & hardware in my shop I built a Home for G.N.O.M.E.S. this weekend. I'm curious to see if/ how long the roofing material holds up?!? Gnarly Nasty Otherwise Maximum Energy Shrapnel all of the weird pieces, that are a RRPITA to stack, and yet burn great. It was a fun project, made up as I went.

Good idea, RichE23ACR. I have a lot of rounds that are approx 22-24" long. Too long for my stove, but they'd be too short if I cut them in 1/2. Maybe I'll cut them to 18" and throw the stubby ends into one of these...
When we bought the house 90% of the firewood that came with it was too long to fit in the stove. I spent innumerable hours cutting off 2"-6". I'm curious to know why the previous owner put it up so long? We used the cutoffs for when we were home.
