32 right now and the rain is changing over to sleet. Then, snow. Lots of snow. Anywhere from 8 to 12 to 18 inches of fresh white fabulous put the plow back on the truck and cancel your Drs. appointment snow. We'll see..........
We had .4 inches of rain last night. We went out to lunch with friends after church and by the time we left the restaurant, it was snowing. It is still snowing with close to 3 inches so far and the forecast is for 4-10 inches. We had a couple of 90 degree days last weekI am done with winter. These pics were taken just a couple minutes ago.
Nice pics Erik B , but you can keep that mess. I was working in my garden after work today and loving the warmth.
34/68. After getting a summer starting sunburn Fri and Sat I am now sitting in front of my stove. The ground was white when I went to bed. I am peeling from sunburn, and burning wood. Odd!
Yup, have to cancel Drs appointment today due to the snowfall. I have my doubts about garbage pickup also; it wouldn't be the 1st time the service "missed" me. This snow is real heavy and is very hard to even push with the shovel much less lift. I can tell you right now, there won't be much lifting!! Branches and saplings are bent over the driveway. Hope the power stays on. 25/67 and windy. Lit off the furnace a couple hours ago.
32 and snowing right now. Maple, Red Pine, Poplar, and Hickory. Pretty much what ever is left in the garage.
We're done... I think... Wife cleaned out the stove and put the stove tools in storage. I took the wood rack in the garage to the basement... returned about 30 splits to the stax. Of course, this means we'll get a blizzard in a few days... perhaps after Thursday and Friday when temps are forecast to be upper 80s.
This is how my front bushes made out. One looks OK and one looks like it tipped over by the roots and the other one isn't looking good.
Started the stove back up Sunday evening after 80's all weekend we dipped to the 30's at night 40's daytime. After tomorrow's load of something soft like poplar we'll be done again for awhile. Burning ash now, 73/43.
I think you are right. When we first moved in 43 years ago they were the size of a volleyball and my young sons could jump over them. Ever since the deer decided to eat around the bottom of them, I have told people looking for our place to look for the place that had 3 large bushes out front that looked like giant mushrooms. I guess I will have to come up with another way to ID our place.
Had another ash and red oak fire this morning, and having another one now. Looks like I’ll be doing that almost daily for the foreseeable future. At least I’m justifying my never-ending wood hoarding fetish
