Hi, my name is Ron and I’m new here. Always burned firewood through a Nashua wood stove since I was knee high to a grass hopper and have enjoyed it very much. this year I finally got my fire wood situated in a way I could move it when I wanted too and could count on it being plenty dry in time for winter. I knew there had to be a forum where people might appreciate the idea and figured I’d share The trailer is a 9 ton tri axle that I bought for $200 delivered. All hardware to make the front and rear walls was repurposed parts from my scrap pile. Just had to buy 3 18’ 4x4 pt for runners to set the pallets on. There’s currently just shy of 6 cord on the trailer but I will make sure to cap it at 6. 50/50 oak and maple 18”. I typically burn only 3 cord per winter and that’s using the stove almost everyday from 1st of November till march.
Thank you. Trailer still needs a few things to being complete. For one cutting the rear steal pipes down to length but over all it’s doing its job and I’m happy. There’s almost 30,000 lbs on it and the springs aren’t flat yet
Great set up! You could take that trailer on 95 South for both airflow and heat (if you drive far enough). Think of the seasoning times! If you wanna keep the pedal to the metal you could hire a blocker to keep Smokey off your tail. Welcome, Ron!

Sirchopsalot, I’m 34, lots of memories with the Nashua, like my dad sending me 200’+ to the wood pile every day with a wheel barrow to earn my seat next to the stove haha. Inherited my grandfathers Nashua and it has been treating me well. Rough estimate, about 100 cord has been through it, some 500,000lbs of wood. Jo191145, few ideas, might park it at the end of the covered porch, or keep it in the barn and get ICB totes to load up and set them on the deck with the skid steer. Gotta trial these ideas to see what I like metalcuttr, she’s old and slightly worn out, but built strong, plenty life left to live the rest of its days as a wood hoard trailer.

Seems like you could make a heck of a wood pile on a cheap ole trailer house frame...they about give those away around here!
Im thinkin, I’m thinkin. Wouldn’t need one too large. Gotta load with a conveyor but I’d like sides and top for weather proof. Maybe my old dump truck would work. It’s gettin tough carrying the wood up from the basement.
