    Today that area is ice free and the Soo locks are getting busy.

    btw, for those who are not aware, Sault Ste Marie is pronounced Soo ST Marie. That is why we refer to that area as the Soo.

    There's a reason I'm not working on the Great Lakes anymore. Ice still April 24th 2015 between Mackinac Island and the bridge

    The last time I was at the locks was in the 50's! Been to the Soo a few times though.

    Mom and I drove across country, camping and sleeping in the car. We spent a night in the parking lot at the locks and in the morning wandered over to watch. Mom suddenly recognized the ship was one my BIL’s brother worked on. She asked someone onboard, and they went and got him, and had a nice chat walking alongside as they went up through. (1985)

    Yeah, it was a warm week. Got very close to turning the AC on. Instead we closed the house up in the am and only opened windows around dusk. One day we had an awesome breeze off of lake Michigan and that cooled evening off nicely. The lake is only about 40° now.

    For now at least. At least we're not getting the crazy snow that some are getting. lacrosse area, and where my mom is are getting dumped on. The report is 10-15" for Sparta, where my mom lives. They had a couple inches yesterday already.

    It's snowing here, but not sticking and not expected to stick to anything but grass.

    Typical here. One cannot always believe the radar. Yesterday it rained off and on but we didn't even get 1/4" of rain. Today, if one is watching the radar you would think the snow plows were out. Ha! All we've had is a few flurries.

    yeah, there was supposed to be a narrow band just north and west of us here in the Dells that got dumped on. We maybe got 6" in the woods and on the deck. Would have been more if the ground didn't have so much thermal energy stored up from the week prior in the 80's. LOL Our asphalt driveway didn't accumulate anything.

    Yeah there was a band of snow/ice pellets came down about 2:30 this afternoon...if it had kept that rate up for long it would have started adding up!
