Last summer I just missed out on a mulch place giving away their ibc totes that were once filled with dye. I kept an eye on their stash as they started to accumulate so far this spring and gave them a call the other day. Lady on the phone said come grab them but we can’t help load em. I grabbed one of my college helpers this morning and made two trips. First trip was dump truck and my pickup with a trailer. Second trip was just my dump truck. Place was 6 miles north of my house and my moms where I process everything is 9 miles south of my place. Got them all back to moms and then had to take my dump truck to a friend who had called yesterday. Said he cut down 4 maple trees and wanted the wood gone asap. He is about 3 miles from my place. Took my helper over there along with two wheelbarrows. The guy and his two teenage sons pitched in and in 45 minutes we had 1.75 cords of 100% white oak on the truck. Got all this back to moms and unloaded by noon. Yes sir, outside of 4 hours labor paid to my helper and a littlw
Great score on the totes. You guys are tossing those rounds in that truck by hand? That’s a lotta work Glad I live no where near you LOL
Haha. Yep. Just toss em in. Anything under about 14” diameter or so are east to lift and toss right over the side. Doesn’t take much time at all
Take those liners out, cut the top off, screw them to a pallet, even more totes! (drill them full of holes with a hole saw for better air flow) Or take half of them, cut them diagonally to make "roofs" for the totes (each one makes 2) then use the rest to mount on pallets.
Nice find. What is your intended use for them? Nuggets? Certain species? What happened to the maple? Turned into white oak?
Took the two cross bars on top then use the forks to flip em then lift and the bladders slide right out.
