I managed to rake a bit of gravel back onto the driveway yesterday. Not much, just the stuff the plow wash pushes off the road and onto the edge. Now is a great time for that since the driveway is so soft, the rocks should get compacted easily. Last week while walking the dogs, I spotted some skunk tracks. Great...... Last evening, had to cut the dog walk short and turn around as we would have caught up to a skunk that was ambling along the snowbanks. Luckily, the dogs didn't see or smell it.
We are very, very fortunate that Vancouver Island doesn't have skunks living on it. We get skunk cabbage in the spring instead.
Might be solving a problem I didn’t have, but I got one of these yard carts to put my small electric splitter on to wheel up into the back yard and am in the process of making it into a bit of a work station. Got a couple ideas to flesh out yet but so far so good.
Rabid skunks reported to be in our area. Dogs immunizations are up to date. Cats are not allowed outside. Have not had skunk odors here, but have on the main road. We keep our trash in covered containers. My son's dog, a husky, has tangled with skunks and porcupines. None so far this year. Finally getting warmer here. No snow in the woods. Some on the north side of things. Some snow banks still melting. I am told there is no frost in the ground in the woods. Roads not muddy.
Hoarder Dads and Grandpa's, Kohls has clearance on, good stuff for growing kid only a few bucks each. Got mine a L/S polo for $1.80. a sweatshirt and leggings so far. Neat deal for me as we don't have any stores here except Walmart and all the kids at school end up wearing the same clothes lol. ReelFaster Warner Edit, and Smokinpiney
Weirdest thing Dave, I used to use my Kohl's card online, which is like double scoop but more like triple/quadruple scooping on coupon codes and card discount. I only used once or twice every year or two and guess what? Apparently I went 3 years (or more?) with out using it, and they closed it! I didn't even know they could. No loss, just weird.
This has been a great car, I must say. Still works good. I don't intend to push my luck but I should be able to squeeze the spring and maybe summer out of her. Knock on wood, lol. I've learned my lesson about dumping big sums of money into stuff over-optimistically, but sometimes you have to do what you need to do to stay on the road in the meantime.
Yup, I stopped using mine and pretty soon they just stopped mailing me crap all the time...they still know my wife's address though, let me tell ya!
Weird! I wouldn't mind not getting all the junk mail I do (no kohls anymore either), but the CC was on my credit score for long term good credit, I much rather would have liked to close the two small CC's from the early 90's husband I have and keep the Kohl's card, I pay the darned annual fees every year but we never use them. Thinking about closing them, not sure on pro's and con's.
Clothes and household stuff mainly. If you watch for the right sales/discounts you can get stuff at almost Walmart prices, but better quality.
80 degree temps have really done a number on the snow and mud today. lot nicer to work in the yard. cut up one of the tote bladders and made a clean up bin out of it. At least it contains things. The remains of the big stack. I have to get ready to leave Friday so it’s clean up mode now. Close to two cords in the trailer now. I hope to move it tomorrow and stack it on a bunch of pallets.. got a half tote of hickory and 2 1/2 tote a of red oak for now. There remains more than enough to start a fourth tote of it.
