I will swing on these rounds tomorrow after work to make a full cord in the truck. Man i miss my 066. Borrowing a farm boss for now. What a dud! Open to suggestions for a new saw...
Nice job, I ran a farm boss of my friends and I was never impressed. It was probably the reason I was never into Stihl that much. Can't wait to try out the MS460 though.
Yup. I am leaning towards those exact two. Or a size smaller but that would only save me about $140. I plan to either try rebuild the 066 or buy a 75ccish in a couple years are so. Thinking autotune with 20" techlight.
I have run a farm boss for the last two years and it has done well but I am selling it now and patiently awaiting my new 460 which should arrive today. I cut a lot with it but it really slowed down on those big oak logs. I can see how you would be disappointed stepping down from a 066.
What size bar? 20" seams most common. I liked the 24" on on my 066 as i do buck rounds that big and larger. I also think noodling is easier when the nose is sticking out the other end and i cut wood to 20" lengths.
I got it with a 20 inch bar. Really is nice. Check out the 562xp thread in the chainsaw and tools section alot more knowledeable guys then me weighed in on it.
That deuce multifuel or a gasser? Either way it's one heck of a wood hauler! Some nice lookin oak rounds ya have waitin for ya tomorrow. I love the way that stuff pops apart
Multifuel. Its a fun truck. My raging preggo at home got in the way of my splitting today. Will commence on friday.
Buddy of mine had one for a few years. Man we put that thing to the test. Pulled stumps out, trucks out of ditches and snowbanks, and of course hauled wood. Good luck with the preggo!
coal reaper, I know this guy by the name avc8130. He said he will cut all your wood for you because your a really cool guy. Period. If you feed him a few beers he will be happy. Now you don't even have to buy a saw.
I sold another one that i submitted to amphibious testing after superstorm sandy. Unstoppable. I havent used the winch yet, but my willys jeep does fit in the bed.
While i cannot deny that im a really cool guy, that dude has enough logs of his own that he needs to be bucking up. Not to mention i am sharpening chains for the day before the sun comes up and done and having beers by the time he wakes up. Smart guy he plans it that way. But if he comes cut rounds for me i can spend some time putting together a timed delay relay setup for that confounded woodgun!
