Im familiar with live oak (dont think they're around here), but not this type. Noticed this pin oak with wires among the tree and on closer inspection a wire engulfed by tree. Dont know if thats a live wire or not. Its by a major intersection so i imagine expensive for the town to take down. I have a job there to do.
Electric utility would cut it if it was live wire. My guess is cable for TV or something similar. I’ve seen wire in tree limbs before and just up the road from me they removed the tree and left about a 10” piece on the wire which eventually rotted away.
We have a row of about six large pine trees the wires run right through the middle. Power company wanted to cut them down for at least 40 years and my mom always said no. Now she would let them come down but the power company isn’t all that interested in the job anymore.
Those wires in the tree are not electricity. Those are cable, copper phone, or fiber optic. In pic number one way up high? That is primary and neutral. Those high ones are hot.
Up high is "high" voltage...the other wires look like 120v (240v phase to phase) "low" voltage wires to me...
