The larger ones you can walk on and off the trailer with the side mounted controls. My buddy down the road has a big diesel powered JLG with a maximum basket reach of 125 feet at full extension. Guranteed nose bleed height. He uses it to check his grain bins, has a row of them.
Fair statement but I never grossed over 80,000 pounds and always on 5 axles too. Did have a flip axle on the trailer but never used it. Was a regular visitor at the CAT scale. Easy to haul too. Convenient tie down points and on the big ones, you can lock the hydraulics so they are basically immovable. 6 chains and off to the races. My pre retirement job, I was a Michigan steel hauler so I was used to grossing 163,000 pounds on 11 axles or about 106 on the deck, give or take.
I have a 6-axle RGN. I have yet to see a machine where you can activate the controls for driving from the ground station. Settling the boom and stowing for shipment sure. But not for driving. Namely because in you generally stand at or under a wheel. I’ve hauled the 1350sj Both the JLG and the genie versions. Hauled this model last year as well as just last week to bring me home from Nashville.
Seems like that would be unsafe, driving from the ground...Although I have ony used small JLG's and scissor lifts!
I do not know how close you are to phila area but A&A enterprises may rent them yeah they are expensive last resort I still have my spikes and belt I have not used them in 30 years ...Now where are they in the shop ????? you are welcome to try them out. I never understand why I keep some things way to fat and wore out to use them anymore maybe I am a Hoarder?? JB
Most lifts I see for rent are like $500-600ish range for a weekend rate plus transport. Since most are 13,000 lbs plus on that, I’d call and ask what the delivery fees are. Could be an extra $200 or more depending on distance.
I estimate aerial to be at least 50 feet high. It's a bad picture I didn't get the tops but it's not a small one..
