....yet another multiple tree job....thank God the humidity broke overnight. It's cool and in the low 60's here, clear skies, should be a good morning to cut. But it's catching up with me....I got tendinitis in my right elbow something terrible, my left shoulder is still sore from June and my right knee is swelled up and throbbing. Did I mention I have to climb today?? Getting old sucks!! Have a great Sunday everyone!!
Yes, the weather is getting lovely out there...Be safe out there and come back to show us the high lights.
Be careful and take care of yourself. When you get to be an old fart like me you want to be able to do things.
Be safe Scott! Better to slow down a little now rather than coming to a complete stop later.. Been there done that! Ray
I would not mind 60* at 7AM. Its 5 am here, just heading to bed... work all day long, punching the click from dusk till dawn.
Think about this, you wouldn't take your saws up those trees unless they were in good condition, why would you take your body up those trees if it isn't in good condition? Be safe!
Perhaps you are getting close to where I was when I said, "Enough!" It is enough for me to just cut a little bit of wood each winter now.
Scotty knows his limitations and when to say no. BUT, he also knows everytime he walks out the door he works his body hard (as do I) and it's just a matter of time when the body will let us know when to hang up the tools and move on to the next chapter, whatever it may be.
Scott did mention he has tendonitis so it sounds like he has already gone too far.. Man it took forever to heal tendonitis! Don't want to do that again!
You also have to take into account, the love for the work each of us does. I enjoy construction and probably do 2 or 3 stupid things a season and I pay for it, but I love what I do.
Just be extra carful Scotty, when you know your not 100%, it will take longer to get it done but that's ok
Well boys we got it done today again, in good fashion. What a beautiful day to work on trees, cool and no humidity whatsoever this morning. Ended up getting a HEAP of wood, got rid of the maple and kept the locust....I mean, if I hadn't kept that locust I'd have lost sleep for a week! Beautiful morning. Pic of the trees we did, locust is in the front and the big red maple with 5 leaders is in the back off to the right A pic of the tall locust.... Made a couple friends today.....cut into the dead side of the locust and it was hollow.....found a nest of juvenile red squirrels...none were injured, and they had an amazingly tame disposition. That is one hiding on the inside of my leg. Every time I put him down, he'd jump back on me......He must have thought I was nutty!! The haul when done......how's that for a full wagon..... Truck full of locust, dump trailer full of red maple.... And we picked up a job for a couple weeks from now thanks to this homeowner......A huge sugar maple!! Stay tuned!!
