It’s a bright sunny day but I only cut for an hour because it was muddy and I didn’t want to turn it into a sloppy mess.
Since I quit cutting early my son and I finished up splitting oak for his roadside stand. Between these two piles there’s about 12-14 cords. Now he has some stacking to do! Im hoping to be able to make this pile of logs disappear by the end of next weekend. Will need some dry weather though.
Mud isnt fun. Cant blame you there. You are the log mover and bucker correct? Helpers do the splitting?
Had two good afternoons this week to work. Got the messy pile of logs cleaned up. Almost done this oak pile. It will measure about 115’ long. Did hit metal on a cut Wednesday. Not that hitting metal is ever a good thing but at least this chain was almost dull enough to take off the bar and exchange it for a freshie. Will need to get a lot more logs in here if I’m going to have anything to process come summer.
Quite a bit of it is visible and because I pick the logs up with forks, it usually rolls around enough for me to see the obvious
Looking good Joe! My log inventory is about 25 cord. About 30 cord split. Been mud here for weeks. I bought three lead loads from a farmer that is clearing ground. Cherry and Hickory run through a processor. Couldn't get in the woods all winter. No frost in the ground.
